Ramen: Japanese Noodles & Small Dishes Hardcover – 11 May 2017

Got this for 19 year old daughter who loves cooking and Japanese food. She has already tried one of the recipes, even making the stock herself. Not all of the recipes are Japanese which makes for an interesting change. It's beautifully photographed.

Fantastic book, written in a simple way with mouth-watering photos. All of the ingredients are described at the beginning so you know what to look for (although it would've been nice to see some western alternatives for ingredients you might not be able to find easily).We've tried a couple so far and now do ramen Saturdays - mind you we don't make the broth from scratch every time (although it is lovely!) because we're too lazy. Overall a lush book, definitely recommend.

Would make a fantastic gift. The book is full of stylised photos which would make anyone say wow when they come to flick through it for the first time.And of course the recipes deliver. The msg bomb that is the thick veggie soup is to die for. Which is a weird recommendation coming from a meat lover.

I was not sure how many stars to give this. It might be a great book. The purchase was animated by the idea of having lovely ramen at home, but although I enjoy cooking and often spend a lot of time on it, this book has persuaded me that cooking ramen for less than 30 people is really not worth the bother. Most involve two solid days of cooking, from broth to this and that and then to final consumption, that is, if you have not starved by then. So, long live the ramen restaurants.

Really found this book amazing. Everything you might want to make from scratch or use shop purchased. Both Japanese and UK equivalents are given in recipes. I'm glad I kept my pasta machine as I fancy trying at least once to make my own noodles. The extra notes above the recipes enhance the cooking experience. I, personally, see myself returning to this book on many occasions for inspiration and achievable meals.

Well written, clear, and easy to follow recipes with great photos to support. Shame Amazon are incapable of delivering books in a presentable manner. 3rd time this has happened with a book from Amazon, it's shame on me at this point.So, great book, but order elsewhere if you want it in good condition.

Bought as a gift for a real ramen lover. He said these are the most authentic recipes he's ever made at home. The recipes do require some hard to get ingredients but if you have an Asian supermarket nearby then you won't have any issues.
