**Q: When these are sharpened, will the gold come off?**
A: I used these for 2 years, yes it does come off. The metal is fairly soft compared to professional grade knives but it also means a honing rod is enough to maintain it. If you only use the honing rod then only the very edge of the brass coating will come off, if you use a whetstone then alot of coating come off.  Is it a super pro knife? no. Is it value for money for average home use? yes

**Q: Are these dishwasher safe?**
A: We advise to hand wash the product for the first year to protect it, but it is dishwasher safe.

love the knives and the block look good in the kitchen, only flaw is the gold band round the base comes off, it is not securely connected.
