Linking these to Google Home is a challenge. Get ready.
I bought the two-pack of Mini Smart Sockets. I spent over an hour figuring out the install. The included directions weren’t exactly helpful, but they did provide needed clues. Interpreting the Chinese translation was also a bit challenging. Here are my notes as of 12/5/17.1. Find a table lamp. Plug it in, turn it on, then unplug it.2. Open Mini Smart Socket. Plug it in. Plug lamp into Smart Socket.3. Press and Hold the power button on the side of the Smart Socket for 5 or 6 seconds. Lamp will turn on. Release power button. Power button will flash on and off.4. Go to iPhone (OS 11). Download Smart Life- Smart Living app. (Don’t bother loading the TuyaSmart app).5. Register the app on your device. Put in your phone number, make up a password that you can remember, and subsequently turn your digital security over to an unknown Chinese entity.6. Click on the “+” button in the upper right of the screen. Click “Electrical Outlet” from the list. Click “Confirm indicator rapidly blink.” Choose your wifi router and enter your password. Click Done. Turn your lamp On and Off with your phone. Magic. Do it again. Feel a sense of accomplishment.7. Make sure you’ve installed Google Home and Google Assistant apps on your phone.8. On iPhone, go to Google Home app. Go to upper left drop down menu and choose “Home Control.” You’ll then be switched over to the Google Assistant app.9. In Google Assistant app > Home Control > Devices, click the “+” in lower right of screen. Scan down the list and choose Smart Life.10. Log into Smart Life interface using same phone number and password you previously used when you registered with the app. Give permissions.11. Assign Rooms (Click on the pencil icon on the right). Click Done.12. The Mini Smart Socket shows up at the bottom of the list. You can click on it, and give is a nickname such as “Bedroom Light.”13. NOTES (so far): These new Smart Socket devices don’t show up in the Google Home devices list. Weird. Don’t try to add them (using the ADD NEW DEVICE button at the bottom of the screen), it will drive you nuts, and it won’t work. You can instead see the Smart Life switches by clicking on the upper drop down menu in Google Home app, then select Home Control. There, you will see your full list of devices.14. Congratulate yourself. You are a real trooper.15. Some bad news: When I went to add the second Mini Smart Socket, I had to start all over from scratch. It wouldn’t allow me to add, it only allowed the option of Unlinking the account. So I did. I started over, and added both Smart Switched at the same time. It now works with both. If you want to control these switches with your phone, you’ll need to use the Smart Life app. Otherwise, verbally tell Google Home speaker (or Google Home Mini) to turn them on or off.Good luck! You must be an adventurous soul. Hopefully, this will make your journey easier.I’ve only started using them. Not sure how long they will last. So far, so good.

Never worked
I got a two pack from the daily deals and wanted them to work with my Echo network (I have 5 of them around the house) I could not even get either one of them to even work with their own app, the Tuya Smart app only has a 3.6 rating on play store where you down load it. Biggest complaint on the app reviews are trying to get the plug's app to work with other devices, not just the echo but even the google home. considering all the devices out there today the hoops you have to jump through on these plugs to make them work is not worth the cheaper price. I gave it two starts but only because I know others have made it work but after 5 attempts with each plug and neither would connect to its own app they went back.

Some issues
This took forever to get running with Alexa. My first password setup didn't take with Alexa and I had to use the forgot password twice. They require a verification code to get your email address, I guess. They are so slow to send it, the app times out and have to start over. It took me 45 minutes to set up. It is finally working. The verification process serves no useful purpose to the user.Edit: I added another and it was easier to set up. Note: it needs a load to stay connected. My wife has turned a connected lamp off with its switch twice. Each time the smart plug went offline until unplugged and plugged in again.

Don’t waste your money...
I purchased two of these smart devices. I was a bit sceptical due to the price and the no name branding. And...I was correct. One of the outlets burnt out the first night. The outlets are rated at 10 amps, but I can assure you that’s not the case or the one was simply defective. Do yourself a favor and spend a little bit more for a Lutron or WeMo device at Lowe’s or Home Depot. If something goes wrong it’s simple to return and pick another up the same day. I do not recommend these units. Note: I am a master electrician by trade.

App for product does not detect plugs.
I purchased two of the 2-packs During the connection process, the app turns my lamp on/off, then never gets detected. Out of all four plugs I have, the app cannot connect to any of them. My wireless settings are at the required level, the light on the side of the plug blinks rapidly, but it's a no-go. I'm very disappointed that none of these work. I was hoping to control all the lights in my room after linking to Google Assistant, but I never got that far. I wouldn't suggest these unless the app magically starts working.

Not ready for prime time
Way too much effort to make this smart plug work. Many other brands are much more user friendly. If you want to sign away your phone number and password to a Chinese company that you've never heard of than this is the plug for you.You shouldn't have to get involved and register with the company's app just to pair it to Alexa. Got it to work for a few minutes then it unpaired. Pairing with Alexa shouldn't be this difficult. The listing should've indicated that. I guess I will move on to a more mainstream plug with better reviews.

This product is amazing. It was super easy to setup
This product is amazing. It was super easy to setup. The instructions were very clear. I will def be getting a few more to control my lamps instead of smart bulbs too!If you're using this with google home Instead of using the Tuya Smart app, you'll need to use the Smart Life app to interface with google home. Some videos showed you having to say "hey google, talk to smart life" but this doesn't have to be done, you can just add it as a device in your google home app after linking it to your account.

I would recommend rectangular plugs instead
These work fine. Hooked up to alexa and turn on and off with no problems. The reason I would recommend rectangular plugs instead is that these will make it hard to get anything into the second plug in an outlet because of their shape. They are good for the types of outdoor outlets that have a box around them, because the rectangle plugs will not fit inside of the box but these will. If you have an outlet with nothing else plugged into it, these would be fine in that case also.
