As a believing catholic I have encountered a lot of different comments about my beliefs. They range from being called stupid, foolish, ignorant, living in the middle ages, a bigot, a hateful person and a few more that I cant write down.This is not new Jesus warned that true Christians would be hated by the world so Ill just have to keep on loving my fellow man.This book beautifully explains in details the teaching of our catholic church the church that was established by Jesus over 2 thousand years ago and this is an absolute must for any Christian trying to remain in strong in these difficult secular times.God bless you all

A heavy tome but so so interesting, informative and well worth the read. I needed background and an update on RC practices, duties etc and this book had all this and more. Don't hesitate buy it.

I am a catechist at my local church and this book is a great read. I love the explanation and breakdown of the Creed "I believe".Please buy one and you'll love it. I strongly recommend this book.SB

Ok so the print is small, and it is not a hardback, so what, you won't die wondering if you own this book, make sure you have a dictionary handy for the odd word here and there... considering it's 8 years work the price is buttons..... outstanding spiritual achievement in a world of increasing despair. Amazon is very reliable I have never had one complaint

I'm writing this review in part to comment on the suggestion this is for serious theologians only. I'm afraid that I did not find that to be the case. I purchased the Kindle Edition and the first thing I did was bookmark the Subject Index. This allows me to quickly drill down to the specific subject I have questions about. I first bought a paper copy of the CCC as I was tired of seeing multiple answers to the Church's position on anything and figured the CCC would give me what the Church actually endorsed/believed. The one problem, is like a lot of good reference books, you can get sucked into browsing all sorts of subjects that you weren't that interested in to start but couldn't help getting pulled along. I'm not sure that this is a bad thing. Now, why I didn't give this 5 stars: The Kindle edition on the Kindle itself has a problem with the references to the right of individual paragraphs. When you try to move to the reference to see what it says, the Kindle thinks the paragraph is a "table" that you want to zoom in on and so you can't actually click on the link itself. A minor nuisance but disappointing. The good news is that it works fine on the Kindle desktop application and since that's where I'll refer most to the CCC, as long as the links work there, I'm happy. On the Kindle itself, links for foot notes, the subject index, the table of contents, etc. works fine so overall I'm very happy with my Kindle Edition. As to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, isn't it better to find out what the Catholic Church actually says rather than what various people on the Internet think it says? For Catholic parents, it certainly allows you to find and then explain what the actual position of the Catholic Church is.

Bok arrived in good time, well packed and undamaged.I have looked at several versions of the Catechism and this for me is the best one. It is a physically big book but well laid out, good size print and therefore easy to use.

It's amazing the wisdom in this book. As I read through, all I could say is that, this is definitely inspired by the Holy Spirit. The teachings in this book by the Church is just awesome. If you really want to know what the Catholic Church really teaches, this is a must read and you will be amazed by the wisdom in this book.

I had read the shorter version of the catechism and also part of a French language version some time ago. I am very pleased to have my personal copy of the full Catechism in English which I can read and study.

Die beste und vollständige Darstellung der Lehre der katholischen Kirche mit gutem Quellen-Apparat. Dabei ist das Buch gut lesbar, teilweise spannend geschrieben. Man findet plausible Antworten auf die großen Fragen unserer Zeit. Auch wenn man nicht mit allem einverstanden ist, lohnt die Lektüre sehr.

This is an excellent resource for understanding Catholicism and the positions/reasoning held by it.

A prominent member of the Church many years ago said that it would never be possible to put out a complete Catechism of Catholic teaching. He was proved wrong by this very complete Catechism. Many people originally not of our Faith have read it from cover to cover. It is a wonderful reference book.

Before this Catechism was printed it was thought that a complete catechism would never be a real possibility. But it happened. A wonderful resource

So far it teaches what CHRIST taught His Church 2,000 years ago.
