KitchenCraft Boiled Egg Topper, Stainless Steel, 10 x 7 x 0.5cm, Silver

I nearly didn't buy this due to some of the more negative reviews, but at the price I thought I'd give it a go. It works perfectly and has no trouble getting through even thick egg shell. A lot of reviews said it won't cut – you have to apply a little pressure to get it to work, but it's not difficult. Others write that it's not suitable for med-large eggs – I can see this point, but it creates a large enough hole for a teaspoon and for me that's doing the job. Considering the price (I paid £3.50) I think it's a neat, well-constructed solution to topping boiled eggs!

Used for cutting the tops off eggs. Just seems to slide upwards and not cut through shell. Circumference is not large enough to cut through large eggs and after several attempts it buckled and did not work. May work for small eggs but too much pressure is needed to try to cut tops off large eggs. Disappointing.

I like large boiled eggs and wanted something to take off the top without the mess and shell fragments that come from using a knife. This is an excellent idea, however, for me it doesn’t quite cut off enough of the top to fit a tea spoon inside the egg.So, really good idea, could be perfect if the opening was an extra 5mm or so wider.

Disappointing. The majority of egg shells I tried this on were tougher than the teeth of the device, which slid off in a "cam out" action. The teeth appeared to flex when extra pressure was applied. Great idea, not so great in practice. Oh well. Back to the knife.

This was a gift for my grandsons 3rd birthday. I’ve had an identical one for 25 years and rediscovered it when he wanted soldiers and boiled egg!It is sturdy, well made and will last you for years. It’s toylike which makes it fun to use.

This is an absolutely useless gadget, obviously made to fit small Chinese eggs. It's too small to fit over even the "pointed" end of , a standard English egg , and even you can get it to work, it leaves fragments of shell inside the egg . Much easier to slice the top. off a boiledegg the old-fashioned way using a swift with a knife.. .

I love a boiled and this perfect for taking the top off, works precisely like it says and cheap

I have made some fresh laid egg hampers and added these great little egg toppers. They cut straight through leaving no bits of shell in your egg. Perfect. Just add a marmite soldier for total perfection.
