6' X 9' Natural Step 1/4" Thick Non Slip Rug Pad - Safe for all floors

We purchased this reversible rug pad after moving into our new house with real hardwood floors. The goal was to both prevent our large area rug from slipping and also to protect the floor from the rough backing on the area rug. This rug pad does a great job staying in place on the floor and there is only a little bit of movement from the area rug on top (normally due to my two young boys running around the house like crazy). And, for protection, after living in the house for two years and using this pad for two years, I can't tell any damage from the rug pad area compared to the floor around it. The only reason for 4 stars is that the rug pad was not a perfect 6' x 9' rectangle. After putting the area rug on top, the rug pad was visible in areas along the edges and it was impossible to line the two up perfectly. Our solution was to trip down the rug pad in the areas where it was visible. Works perfectly now....again 4 stars only due to needing to do a bit of extra "work" to the rug pad after receiving.

This rug pad adds great padding to our rug (Wool 80% / Cotton 20%), but slips on our hardwood floors. Plus the rug moves on top of it a bit so the pad keeps peaking out around the edges of the rug. This is frustrating because the rug has a bed on top of it so not easy to reposition. We have the rug in our kids room so it does get a lot of traffic, but still would not expect this from an anti-slip rug pad.

Pros:It feels great under my feet, and makes my area rug look smooth and lush. And you can't beat the price!Cons:The manufacturer makes it clear that this rug doesn't have any anti-slide rubber. However, I had read some reviews that said it eliminated sliding, and decided to give it a shot. I'll say this: in a carpeted area, placed between an area rug and the wall-to-wall carpeting, I would bet that this pad DOES eliminate sliding. But on a hardwood floor, I was still having problems with sliding and had to put my own rubber tape on the bottom of the pad.Overall:Great price, and feels great! Even with buying and putting on your own anti-slide tape, I think this pad will be cheaper and more satisfying than its competitors.

Nice quality but should have heed previous reviews about sliding. It DOES NOT stay in place as other non slip pads.

Needed a rug pad for a large area rug that I purchased. I have purchased and used the thin cheap rubber ones in the past with no real cushioning. This arrived on time and neatly packaged. The padding is eco friendly, thick and cushiony under foot, and It softened the echoing sound in my living room. Although the picture shows the grayish soft side up, this is the side that faces down to protect your flooring.Great quality. I recommend this to anyone looking for warmth, comfort, floor protection and sound proofing.
