My Friend Teddy Freddy Bear Soft Toy

Bought this intended for my boyfriend with a twisted sense of humour.The bear looks exactly like the one in the advert. Everything (and app) is as it was advertised and expected, but app crashed a few times during use.Bear's voice is a freaky female Stephen Hawkin (not child friendly at all). But it giggles like a Japanese school girl!!App had lots of functions/options, and hearing the bear say rude things gave everyone at Christmas get-togethers hours of entertainment.**hint: the app does not allow you to type in naughty words, but you can get around that by spelling the words as how it would be pronouced**Overall brilliant product (but just not for its intended use) I wouldn't give it to a child!!

Cute and funny talking bear (though a somewhat creepy voice), but very disappointed to find out that the app's been removed from the App Store!

The idea of Freddy and the app are fantastic, I love how you can customise it and my boys mind is blown when it comes out with things that are familiar. However I just find it a bit creepy, it's got a voice which I find unsettling, my child isn't bothered by it, but I just can't get used to it. What I do like is that you can control Freddy's volume through the app, because obviously my child finds it hilarious to turn things up to max, and Freddy at max would push me to edge I think. I also like the fact that freddy doesn't connect via wifi it's Bluetooth. It would bother me thinking someone could potentially talk to my child via a toy, but it seems safe enough. Overall fantastic and great how much detail you can add via the app, keeps my boy entertained for hours, great activities and games. Just wish I could change his voice to something a little less traumatising.

I was ready to buy it until I read the reviews, mostly bad reviews, however upon trusting my own judgement I bought it and I'm So glad I did. I honestly cant understand the bad reviews, I've got 4 children, ages 20, 18, 4 and 2, so I've had 20 years experience of all kinds of toys and Freddy bear is the best talking toy on the market , and only 20 pounds, I wish it had been around when my eldest were young. you don't always Have to use the app, you can just turn on Bluetooth on your phone and pair with Freddy bear, then anything with sound will play through Freddy bear, that means if you put youtube on you can play any song or any stories from youtube and Freddy bear will tell the story or sing the song, etc. anything from internet will play through Freddy. I get a different story from internet each time and Freddy tells it, so its even better than a story telling bear as he will read ANY story , song or sound. even if I record my voice on my phone and play it, Freddy will say it. this is a great feature and my kids all love it. For 20 pounds its a great toy, one of the best toys we have owned in past 20 years, and we've been through hoards of toys). 10/10 and cant understand any negative reviews about this product!!

We came across Teddy Freddy in an article for the top toys of 2015 & thought our 4 year old daughter would love it as a Christmas gift. After reading the reviews on here we deliberated as to whether to buy it, but went for it thinking the 'satnav' voice probably wouldn't bother our daughter that much.On arrival it looks good, and it is certainly very soft & plush. We downloaded the app, which although a bit glitchy was straightforward to use. We found spelling our answers phonetically really helped with the pronunciation of words, otherwise some of them were barely recognisable. We then turned the Teddy on and tried to chat with it. We found the voice very strange, for a bear named Freddy to have a middle aged woman's voice just doesn't seem right - especially paired with the frequent high pitched child giggle. I think terming the interaction with the bear as a conversation is a bit of an overstatement. The bear talked, we talked back, bear said nothing. Also it's mouth moved continuously, whether it was talking or not - along with a robotic whirring as the mechanism worked. Possibly ours was just faulty as I haven't seen any other reviewers mention this.We have now returned Teddy Freddy and our just incredibly thankful we tried it out now, instead of waiting until Christmas. I think we would have had one very disappointed, if not slightly scared, little girl had she opened this on Christmas day.The concept is brilliant, if they resolved the voice issues we would definitely consider buying it in the future, but for now I fail to see how this can be a bestseller!

I hadn't realized how big this bear is but was really surprised. For those of us who remember a talking teddy that was all the rage a few years back, this is the upgrade to that.You now have the chance of using apps and engaging with the internet for your younger child. However, you don't have to be connected to the internet in order to play.I ordered this for my grandchild, the reaction was enough to e ensure my entry in the Nan of the year stakes. My daughter was thrilled because she had a Teddy R##### .It is also a cuddly teddy on the receiving end of endless cuddles.I certainly recommend this

I brought this product as the reviews were so bad I thought it would make the perfect secret Santa present (for a grown up!) and how right was I!!! yes it's creepy, but in a cute way! I can honestly say we had hours of fun programming Freddy to say some naughty things, (you had be there!) the recipient was totally unaware of us controlling it with the App (which only crashed once in the whole night!) I'm just gutted now he has a new home! In fact I think I might buy myself one now! And what a bargain!!!

I bought this item for my grandson and I liked it until I heard its voice !My daughter didn't like it either as it sounds a bit creepy not the voice of a little bear!
