Product description EDGE Electrophoresis: Perfect convenience, performance and results! Integrated gel chamber, blue light, & power supply for ultimate efficiency! EDGE Integrated Electrophoresis System Specifications Review: Works well for the price - It works well and was easy to use. I really like being able to see the DNA actively move, and it certainly is a lot less work and cleanup than having to take it to an imaging system after. The self-enclosing system means that I don’t need to drain and store the buffer after. I ran a gel with 30 mL of 1% agarose gel with 1x TBE using 3 μL of SYBR safe DNA stain (10,000x) and ran an Azura PureView 1kb DNA ladder in 3 wells at 2 μL, 5 μL, and 10 μL. It ran at 100v for 40 minutes. I used the included 6-well side of the included 6 to 8-well comb. It didn’t look as good as some imaging systems I used in various labs, but it was usable. The bands were about half as clear as the ones on the product page. Could just be the reagents used or perhaps they turned off their lights for the picture. A good product considering it is only $300.
