Deep Fill Sandwich Maker with Extra Deep and Easy to Clean Non-Stick Plates, Automatic Temperature Control, 900W, Silver and Black, T27013

We have recently had two sandwich makers go wrong... One a brevile where the lid just cracked on me when closing! My husband then bought a cheap version... Not one I would have chosen and it was awful... He then agreed with me how awful it was so I took the time and researched on Amazon.This one is fabulous... It is 900 watt compared to my precious 2 which were just 700 Watts! So it gets hotter and browna the bread really nicely! When it comes to cleaning it is so simple and and quick. I let it cool for a little while then wipe off the dried food with a kitchen towel before then using a damp cloth... No detergent.Be careful as it stays hot on the lid edges for quite a while... As i discovered 😊This is also far better then some others in they you can use full size bread and put plenty of fillingbin... In fact, I find it browns the bread better when the bread is filled because it touches the plates more fully!I love the fact that Tower offer an extended free warranty... All you have to do is go to the Tower warranty register online and it takes seconds... They then send you an email to confirm the exte nded 2 years on top of the 12 month extended warranty. I did this also with my Tower iron... So straight forward.The price for this too is amazing... Especially because of the warranty but also how good it is. The actual thing feels so robust compared to others and it looks pleasing to the eye too.My daughter was really impressed with it when she stayed over a while, so much so that she asked me to order her one which was delivered today and she can't wait to use it.When I compare it to the last two I had and others when I researched, this one really stands out. I can't rate it high enough... Particularly when it costs so little. I think anyone would be impressed with this..

Basic sandwich maker which is ideal for a couple of thickly filled lunch time meals. Heats fast n efficiently cooked in minutes.

Really pleased with this sandwich maker. It heats up quickly and the deep plates mean you can fit in plenty of filling without everything spilling out. The sandwiches come out crispy on the outside and nicely melted inside. It's also easy to wipe clean after use. The only downside is that it takes a little longer to cook very full sandwiches, but overall it's a great little kitchen gadget and good value for money

Felt compelled to write a review as some reviews mention not being able to find bread which fits. I can not understand that as a normal Tesco brand loaf fits just fine. I bought it because usually toastie makers are too small but this one is great. The bread looks slightly smaller than the plates when you put it in but it seals up fine with none of the filling spilling out unless you put loads of cheese in but that's just the sign of a good toastie in my opinion. I usually use cheese then a filling then more cheese so it's quite loaded but it still seals the toastie. Looks great too.

Ok, so, there are a few niggles with this, well one actually, and it is nothing that will stop you enjoying it properly.The first and only whinge I hear about this sandwich toaster is that you cannot get bread to fit it, well, firstly, it is not the only sandwich toaster that suffers this misalignment of plates and bread, and secondly, it is not quite true, though, for most supermarkets these days, the bread is likely the wrong shape, it does depend on where you get your bread and what shape you choose.Secondly, even if it does not fit perfectly, it still works for the most part and you still get a half decent seal on most fillings, though I accept, some do break free sometimes, but I don't care about that, it is not so bad that it ruins everything, and it is not so bad that I am willing to let it kill my enjoyment and it is not so bad that it happens so frequently that you find yourself having to dig your escaped filling back out of the toaster and onto your plate, and even if you do, so what, there are worse things in life to contend with.Overall I love it, I remember my mum having one of these things in the late 70s, and loved it then, my brother and me looking about to see what we could stuff in it, does anyone remember toast toppers, we used to stick them in there sometimes, and we had beans n cheese, spaghetti hoops n cheese, mini hot dogs and beans, and cheese, and some really odd ones too.It is such fun making different toasties, I have had all kinds of fillings in mine, and even some sweet ones, and there are some really good resources and recipes to be found these days, and I am once again the cheese and ham toastie king of my own kingdom and at such a great price too, and I may even buy my brother one for Christmas...

Firstly, I don't like that it has no controls, not even an on/off switch.Basically, you plug it in and it starts to heat up, even with the lid open.Since you have no idea how hot it is or how long it's going to take, you have to stand over it and watch it in case something burns or ignites.Obviously it helps to flip the sandwich at some point to get an even cook and also using one side at a time is better because you need somewhere for the top edge of the sarnie to go - unless you can find exactly square bread.On the positive side - it is actually quite fast and you can end up with a decent enough toasted sandwich, albeit a bit limp and underwhelming (although I don't think that problem is specifically an issue with just this brand/unit).
