These stories are set between ‘A New Hope’ & ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ Darth Vader is in deep doggie doo after the fiasco of the destruction of the Deathstar. This omnibus chronicles his return to power by ruthlessly dealing with his enemies both within and without the empire. Vader & Kieron Gillen kick ass. A ridiculously enjoyable read with great artwork throughout by Salvador Larroca.Unfortunately this hardback Omnibus is out of most normal folks price range at the moment. So either go the trade paperback route or keep an eye out for secondhand sellers.

Brilliant book, worth reading for all Star wars fans. A wonderful take on the established world of the original trilogy, and really fits in to the Star wars universe

Any star wars fan (or fan of good comics for that matter) MUST read this. I was absolutely blown away by this series and loved every second of it.It introduces some of my new favorite charters, and delivers those ‘cool’ Vader moments while giving much appreciated dark comedy from duppprting characters.Please do yourself a favor and read this series

Now this review is coming from a guy who always had enjoyed all the star wars movies. But never thought they were as great as most people tend to think. I have never read a star wars comic before. Never had the urge to. I do not even know what possessed me to pick this book up, to be honest.But for whatever reason that i did? I am damn glad i did. This book was a great ride. From start to finish. Its shows vader as the true badass that he really is. If you think that final scene at the end of rogue one was cool? Ha! You aint seen nothing yet. Although this is also the one flaw. You never worried about vader as a character. He isnt going to die. The movies say so. But even if they didnt, vader is so imposing, you know nothing can seriously threaten him. Like damn.... one scene has him surrounded by A LITERAL REBEL ARMY. And all vader says? " i am surrounded by dead men". So ya. There isnt really any suspense when it comes to whether vader will live or not.But this is countered very well by the supporting. Mainly doctor alphra. She basically gets recruited by vader to be his sidekick. And she is a great character. Picture indiana jones combined with han solo, but without there morals. And you get a pretty good idea of her character. And she is very good at what she does. But working for vader is always a very dangerous thing to do. She is very aware that vader can kill her at any time. And yes. The threat is very real, she def can die. But she is a vreat character. So you cant help but root for her to survive this series.Then there is triple 0 and BEE TEE. Vaders and alphras droids. Basically the evil twins of C3P0 and R2D2. These two will kill everything they can get away with. And boy. They get away with alot.This is something that kinda surprises me. This is book about some seriously evil and twisted people. And none of these people are "good" people. And they dont even try to be. But you can not but help like these guys. The writings that good. And these characters are very well developed. This story is officially star wars canon. And its handled faithfully and respectfully. And it shows.So if you are asking "should i get this book?"My answer is "why havent you started it yet?"You dont need to be a huge fan of star wars to like this book. But i do think you would have needed to, at the bare minimum, have watched episode IV. Just so you have some idea whats going on. Its basically episode IV.5.Oh. And one one final thing. The art is awesome. No complaints there. At all

This Darth Vader story is worth your time even if you are not into the direction the series has gone in recent times with Disney at the helm. I still consider the Expanded Universe (EU) to be king and absolute; however this iteration of Vader is as close to the soul of what Star Wars used to be all about. A great read and a great Omnibus.

Very Good Story, the highlights of this story are how Vader finds out Luke is his son, and gaining the Emperors trust again after failing him for the destruction of the Death Star.
