All I did was go to unplug the charging cable from the left ear and it removed the chrome base and a wire along with it. Based on this alone I wouldn't recommend. It looks very stylish, fits into ears very well (slightly bigger but not massive). It connects to my phone very easily, and the battery last for a very long time. Both earbugs can be connected seperately which is very convenient.
