BT431A to RJ11 telecom test adaptor

Well, at first there was some kind of problem with the delivery and I could not receive it. But it was Royal Mail's fault and not the company's. They were very helpful and very cooperative and even though I did not receive the second delivery either, the company tried for the 3rd time and sent it signed for and 1st class, to make sure I got it this time. Extremely inexpensive and works just fine with my European phone. Excellent value for money!

Everything seems good - I'm sure it will be if I ever get anyone to fit it for me :-)

This item is a telephone adapter between a BT telephone socket and an RJ11 plug. It is NOT an adapter from a BT telephone socket to an ADSL (broadband) modem that uses an RJ11 connector.This item connects BT telephone plug pins 2,3,4 & 5 to RJ11 socket pins 2,3,4 & 5 respectively. It is intended to connect phones with an RJ11 plug to a BT telephone socket as reported by other reviewers. It is also suitable for connecting a dial-up modem to a BT socket using a four-wire RJ11 - RJ11 lead.(To connect an ADSL (broadband) modem to a BT socket, pins 2 & 5 of the BT telephone plug need to be wired to pins 3 & 4 of the RJ11 socket. A normal broadband ADSL microfilter provides this connection as well as inserting filters between the BT telephone plug and the BT telephone socket connections.)

It can become unplugged very easily. Mine doesn't click in properly. Had to put a bit of tape around it

Awesome! I can now use my US phone in the UK - I'm so happy! The item fitted my American phone plug and it went straight into the British jack. My telephone works wonderfully well and there are no sound distortions of any nature. I highly recommend this adaptor to anyone trying to use an American-made phone in England.

I wouldn't normally have ordered an item with this level of negative reviews, but wanted one quick and cheap. But, sure enough, when I connected it up to my telephone - no dial tone - so, 'more haste, less speed' as they say!Being "Made in China",I wonder if the pin connections are to some non-UK standard, perhaps US, but don't know. But it would seem that the reviewers who have found that it DID work weren't connecting UK phones.At 98p I'd normally just throw it away, but this seemed a special issue so I'm returning it mainly to see what the seller is like.

Finally after shopping around for a while I managed to find this piece which actually works as some have same fitting but addional wires insuide. Suprisingly very cheap as indications are that would be a least £10 I paid a lot less and it arrived within 2 daysIf your not sure this lead is for connection phone lead into DSL socket for broadband

I love Amazon and I'm not put off but like the title says, I bought one of these from an Amazon seller and it didn't work, so in a rush I went to my local Maplin and bought one which worked (I later returned to Maplin and bought a few more for a small project, all of which worked). Could of been a one off, didn't raise it as an issue as would of been more hassle than it's worth.
