## Description

Easily upgrade/replace iCON 15/30/60 extractor fan with adjustable timer module. Keeps fan running 12-30 mins after switch-off to clear moisture and odors.

Review: Great module when you understand how to use the connections - I bought one of these alongside the actual iCON fan to replace an existing, failed Aitflow unit. As a drop-in replacement it works great. I also took this opportunity to switch to a humidity module. I can’t think of any cons other than that quieter units from other brands are available. The instructions weren’t exactly clear how you configure the module to run so I’ll add some notes here from my own googling. A key aspect not made explicitly clear in the instructions is that you do not have to connect the T (Live Trigger) terminal which comes from the light switch. It is very likely that existing and new installations will use 3 core cable which have colours: brown, grey and black. A good practice is to use those wires as follows putting a bit of electrician tape on it for future reference to state purpose: Module connections: L - Permanent Live - core brown N - Neutral - core grey (tape it blue) T - Live trigger - core black (tape it brown) If you don’t want to use a timer or humidity function, and just use the light switch, you can have core black going to L. If you don’t want to use the timer (which needs T) - don’t connect T. If you don’t want to use the pull cord I found it can be rolled-up and taped inside the unit. Note that the pull cord is electronic, not a mechanical switch, and is only used to turn the fan ON. Repeated pulling of it resets the timer to start again. If you turn the timer to its minimum setting, that was about 2 minutes in my test. I had no need for the pull cord as I have an isolation switch outside my bathroom which is easier to access. In the rare situation when you want to disable the fan - perhaps you are having a bath listening to music - that isolation switch can be used. I am using the module as humidity detection only and I have not changed the factory set dial. It comes-on three minutes into a shower. If you connect T you get the fan on with the lights every time but the humidity detector will keep it on until steam level drops. I don’t see the point of that mode myself. If you are pondering which module function to use - I would say that when using the toilet at night without turning on the fan, and potentially disturbing others, this is a really good feature of the humidity detector.
Review: Run on timer , good for shower room - Works well with its related extract fan

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I don't need the pull cord as unit comes on with the light. Can I cut it off?**
A: You must replace like-for-like. Check the part number.
The standard Plug-in timer does not come with a pull-cord and that is one that has an input connected to the light socket/switch. If yours has a pull-cord it may be that the pull cord switch replaces that connection and thus you may not be able to control the fan from the light. The Timer Unit requires a constant connection to the mains (via an isolating switch) so that the unit can run on after the controlling switch (that is, a humidity switch/light switch/pull cord) is switched off. If you only have 2 wires (Live and Neutral) going into your unit then you will need to determine if those come from your light circuit or are separate. If the former, the timer unit is wasted; if the latter then you will need to keep the pull cord switch.

**Q: Does it come complete as shown in the picture or its just the timer module?**
A: Yes, this is a timer module only. (the curved item at the top left of the picture)

When you purchase a fan there is an option to have a timer module or humidity module already inside.

So this item is a replacement component for either of those.

I have had the fan for 10 years. It still works well and is fairly efficient and quiet. I have replaced the timer module once in that time . ATB.

**Q: Does the unit need a permenant live for he module to work?**
A: Yep.

**Q: Can this extend run time after fan is turned off (as it’s connected to lights power)**
A: If the fan is wired by an electrician as per the instructions, and the light switch turns the fan on, then yes the TM module will keep the fan running after the lights are turned off or the amount of time the module is set for.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Run on timer , good for shower room

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Reliable?
*by E***3 on 5 January 2019*

Just bought a replacement module for my timer/humidistat Airflow bathroom fan. Original module had lasted 7 years until it needed replacing. Subjective whether you consider this reliable. I have a timer only version which lasted less than that. But as the module is so easy to replace (compared to fitting a new fan) I guess it's worth it. If you were to choose a standard bathroom fan (£20.00 - £30.00), in my experience these can last anywhere between 18 months and 10 years. Thing I really like about these fans is the shutter. No cold drafts in the bathroom. They look good too. On balance worth the money but not brilliant. Just very good.
