Don't waste your money
Great whilst it worked, which wasn't long! Bought on the 13th October 2107 and it didn't see in the New Year!. Have changed the battery and even tried different makes of battery but now every time I try to switch it on it just displays 'LO'. Will now have to find another one, which is a shame because it was exactly what I wanted.

Tempcare Food Thermometer
Good quality, sound battery compartment, one of the better constructed models I have purchased over the years.Update: Purchased two of these, worked well up to yesterday and then said “LO” in the Display as other users have reported. Tried different batteries and used the battery in the spare thermometer which worked fine. Battery voltage in excess if 1.6V so not the battery. Very disappointing as it has been a good thermometer. I have tried many different makes over the years but rarely get more than 12 months out of any. For the price it has been worth every penny. It’s a sad fact of our throw away society that few things are made to last.

Ever home should have one
Why didn't I buy this years ago?Easy to use, with fast and accurate reading. (I checked with ice/water).Purchased as I had been asked to flip burgers at a local even and wanted to be sure no-one died.Have used it solidly ever since for everything from the Sunday roast to checking water temperature when maintaining the fish tank.Slight niggle: clearly made for right handers. However, if you are a lefty flipping burger, you will hold the "flipper" in your left hand, so this in your right hand is fine.

Stopped working after change of batteries.
this was great to start with but then the display just says 'LO' so I changed the battery a number of times with brand new Duracell batteries but thedisplay still states 'LO' every time I turn it on.Very disappointed.

Great value
Simple, accurate and with a cooking temperature guide on the handle. Just fold away and it automatically shuts off to prevent battery wastage. Quick reaction - stable temperature reading in 5-10 seconds. If using on meat on the BBQ then place a piece of foil between handle and the needle to prevent your hand getting burned.

Waste of money
Stopped working after 10 months and I had probably only used it about once every couple of weeks, if that. It kept displaying the letters LO on the screen so I changed the batteries but still it kept displaying LO. I wouldn't recommend buying this product. Looking at the other reviews it seems to be a common problem. I've since thrown the packaging away and not sure how long it was guaranteed for. A waste of money.

This is a Rubbish Item - Avoid
Don't bother with this product. It is shoddy and of very poor quality. Don't be fooled by the 'massive' price reduction. It simply doesn't work - well, it switched on then switched itself off and duly 'died'. I did try to use it but the reading was so far out it was laughable - and dangerous.Save your money and go for something that works and is of far better quality.I have returned it for a full refund.

Indispensable for cooking large roasts
Bought to do the Christmas turkey, as I always get accused of being on the safe side.I discovered just how critical timing is and this took out all the guesswork.
