So easy to set up and connect. I would recommend these for any set up.

**Q: do the speakers have a inbuilt amplifier?**
A: Yes they're powered by a 40w built in amplifier.

**Q: Does each speaker require a seperate mains connection, or does only one plug in to mains?**
A: Only one speaker requires to be plugged into the mains.

**Q: Will this amplify microphone input?**
A: Not really.....The output from a mic is too weak by itself. All amplified speakers are designed for a true line input that at least has already passed through a pre-amp stage. So buy a mic pre-amp then its output should be fed to the speakers.

**Q: how many aux ports are needed if connecting both speakers to the same device**
A: The speakers are connected to each other and the main speaker to your equipment

I use my PC for work, gaming and online entertainment and have made do with basic Logitech speakers for most of my life. After my speakers started to fail, I decided to invest in something more advanced, but also cost effective and easy to use. I'm no audiophile and was not looking for a complicated setup. These Edifier speakers are exactly what I need. They're stylish and look good perched next to books on my desk. The sound quality, from my point of view, is great and is a tremendous difference from what I'm used to. If you're looking for decent speakers for your PC or living room and but don't require a complicated sound system, then this will do fine.
