The patches help extend the life of the shoe when parts of the sole start wearing a bit thin. Once the shoe wears down too much, you may need some thicker rubber patch. **Q: Would this be good to repair wellies and waterproof leggings?? I have used puncture repair kit previously but only really need patch & glue. Thanks** A: It's very good for repairing cycle inner tubes, I've never used it for anything else, I think it would do rubber wellies ok,and unlike regular puncture patches, you can cut it to whatever size you want. Cheers** A: I bought this for the vulcanising glue. The patches are not feather edged. I think feather edged patches are much better. I've used the patches in the kit with some success on a wheelbarrow (it's a heavy duty one that I load up very heavy), but I'd say be prepared to renew the patch/es you fix sooner rather than later. Great functionality, as the old punctured inner tubes (two) were relatively new and high quality, so now I'm keeping them for longer with a couple of patches from Weldtite alongside a tube of Weldtite glue. So far so good, the tyres are rolling well and the air isn't escaping the tubes through the holes I patched up.
