Backyard Boys Woodworking GS53GRWW Cling-on Suet Feeder, Green/Weatherwood

Beautiful workmanship. I ordered this particular feeder because the metal grid is inserted into tracks. Staples held the grid in place on my previous suet feeder, and unfortunately, the squirrels pried the mesh and staples free from the frame to free the peanut bar. Doggone if those varmints haven't begun to chew away the wood on both the cover and the bottom of this one in an attempt to snack on what lies inside. If you're free of squirrel problems, I highly recommend this item. I wish it were constructed of a material that my "rats-just-in-a-cuter-outfit" couldn't chew away.

This product is well made and attractive. BUT, the squirrels ate through the rim of the suet in just a few days. I had to glue-gun the grates back in and the squirrels ate it through in a matter of days. Now it is unusable. I have since bought a full metal suet holder which the squirrels are working on but cannot chew through. Those darned squirrels!

Easy to clean. This material holds up much better than wood, great construction and the birds love it.

This feeder met my expectations in being synthetic so that the woodpeckers did not destroy it while pecking the suet. It is also somewhat bigger so a new suet cake can be inserted when there is 30% of the old left.
