Great potential, but I can't recommend anymore. Malware in updates.
The idea here is to have software that protects your computer from random and chaotic keystrokes from your little ones, while at the same time engaging the child to promote computer usage and maybe some learning. To that end, the software does it's job. Sorta.UPDATE: OUR OLD COMPUTER (WINDOWS XP) DIED AND WE UPDATED TO A NEW ONE WITH WINDOWS 7. THE ORIGINAL VERSIONS WILL INSTALL ON 7, BUT NOT RUN. THEIR WEBSITE HAS UPDATES, WHICH WE DOWNLOADED AND RAN, BUT OUR AVG SOFTWRE (WEBROOT) NOTIFIED US THAT THE UPDATES (ALL 3) HAD MALWARE IN THEM AND DELETED THE PROGRAMS. SO NOW WE HAVE NOTHING. Waiting on giggles.net to answer our support question.UPDATE: THE GIGGLES.NET WEBSITE HAS A NON WORKING TELEPHONE NUMBER. (DISCO'D.)Amazon will not let us review each version separately so this review is for the ABC/123, My Animal Friends, and the Shapes versions. The ABC/123 is good, (4 stars) but there are only 10 'games' and 4 bonus activities, and they are all pretty basic. So for it's keeping his attention well but I'm sure he'll tire of it one day. [UPDATE: After 3 months, he's bored.] We bought this used for $15 (shipped) and it is very much worth it. But the "new" price is a bit high for me.The Shapes version is just a waste of money except for the screen saver. Shapes are supposed to show your child 2 things: Learn to identify shapes and then show how they fit together to make bigger images. This product only does the first part and it does it poorly. Our child was bored with it after 3 days. The only thing he likes (and likes a lot) is the screen saver. It's really good but it's all he "uses." (He just waits for the SS to come on, runs over to the computer hit the keys, and then leaves it again.) So we set it to 3 minutes. All the other activities are just a waste of time. Most he was bored with on the first time. We also bought it used and even at that price I feel it's not worth it. One star for the Shapes software, 5 stars for the Shapes Screensaver. My Animal Friends is pretty good, but the screen saver crashed the computer everytime it ran. We had to uninstall it. The softare for MAF is better than shapes, and is good. 4 stars for MAF, 0 stars for MAF screen saver.Great idea, but not well executed. Far too few variety and too repetitive. There needs to be a lot more imagination used in the developement of this set of programs.

boring and difficult to install
My grandson, 8 months, loves the animal version but doesn't have the same interest in this shapes game. He actually seems to prefer a couple of free apps on my phone to this. Also, we had trouble installing it. Amazon was wonderful about getting us a replacement. The second one gave us exactly the same difficulties--simply stopped at one section. It loaded on the third computer we tried--after 20 minutes of fiddling. Don't bother with this shapes game; go for the animal one by the same company. It's fine.

Pretty Good
I bought this for my granddaughter. She likes to play with it on the computer and has her own keyboard to pound on. I just wish that it had a little bit more to offer on the program.

nice entertainment
A well produced simple computer program which basically entertains your child while they get familiarized with the keyboard and their screen click coordination. it's a nice program, the kids like it for their young age. but this is not a learning device per -se.plenty of well produced bels, whistles, and nice songs.

Computers Aren't Just For Mommys And Daddys Anymore!!
I have a 27 month old and a 4 month old. My four month old was sitting in my lap as I loaded the game. I got this program mostly for my 4 month old, but I also thought it might help my older child learn how to move the mouse before going on to more difficult programs. I noticed as I was going through each game my youngest daughter was paying very close attention to what I was doing. As I started moving the mouse around to see how it interacted with the game I could see my daughter's head moving from the screen to the mouse. It was very easy for her to identify that the mouse was controlling the movement on the screen. I have no doubt this is going to be a huge hit with her! Within a few minutes she started reaching for the keys herself. One of the many aspects that I really like about about Giggles Baby programs is that you are able to choose from several types of music for your child to listen to as he or she plays, or simply no music at all. It is oustanding computer programming for infant and toddlers at a very reasonable price. You can also go to their website to download a trial version of the software to try for yourself. However, it is much cheaper here on amazon. It only took a couple of minutes to load and it was up and running. You do have to download a patch from the website if you have Vista.

WEAK
High price for a weak program. How hard would it be to show a different picture for each letter.I read the reviews on this Item and they were all good but this program sucks. The screen savordoesn't even work with windows 7. I feel like I got beat what a waste of time and money. After two minutes my son was all set. This program is like putting a child in a round room and telling him to get in the corner. Don't waste your money. Buy your kid a roll of toilet paper he will have more fun with it.

our toddler stayed intrigued...but only for a while
he seems to know it's not an important file he can alter which is what he would do when we would allow him to bang on the keyboard. he was curious for the first few times playing on it but would rather bang on the keyboard to make the dvd drive open, adjust the volume and other things that would make the hair on my neck stand up. but the characters and actions are cute and he smiles when he sees them. maybe when he approaches two will he be able to appreciate it more. it's the only game we could find that's appropriate for a young toddler that would work on a mac. i'd say give it a try. .... follow up to this review.... now our toddler is 2 1/2 yrs old and can navigate thru the computer really well. he enjoys this cd and can control the songs and games. well worth it but maybe wait until your child is 2.
