Featuring jaw-dropping HD/3D cinematography, stirring original music, and Africa s original rock star animals, Emmy Award-winning host Hunter Ellis takes viewers on an unforgettable safari that puts them up-close and personal with the wonders of Africa. With Hunter as your very own personal safari guide, you will run with a herd of graceful gazelles, travel in a hot air balloon to soar with high-flying birds, cross the wide-open plains in an elusive hunt to track down the nearly extinct African black rhino, and scramble up a steep mountain in the rain to meet a pack of gorillas in the mist.

PRESENTED BY DOWN TO EARTH HUNTER ELLIS
A very good 90 min REGION B/2 3D / BLU-RAY that is both interesting and informative and well presented by the down to earth Hunter Ellis. I bought this documentary for the Blu-ray and not the 3D so I am unable to comment on the latter. The onscreen menu allows a choice of 2D or 3D and a eight scene selection if desired.Hunter Ellis travels through Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania where he meets some Maasai people to investigate their way of life and travels to an elephant orphanage to interview staff who help these gentle giants. On safari some of the wildlife featured include crocs, apes, zebras, lions, water buffalo, hippos, vultures, warthogs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, gazelles, flamingoes, monkeys, mountain gorillas, wildebeest, cheetahs and hyena.I highly recommend this DVD for family viewing especially children due to the variety of wildlife and the close up camera work that is very good.

Outstanding
We were on safari in Kenya earlier this year and we can relate to so much that is shown in this DVD. The quality of the photography is of course outstanding, both in respect of wild life and scenery. Great encounters too with wonderful people. The commentary is informative and enthusiastic. Something to treasure alongside our own photos as a reminder of a wonderful experience.

Mixed feelings
As a 3d experience it was fine and quite enjoyable. As a documentary it was shockingly bad. Hunter Ellis was dreadful and his skills were laughable. His commentary was really poor and there was no sensitivity whatsoever for his environment;so much so that I became quite angry whilst being bored silly by it. The muzak was 100% inappropriate. irrelevant and awful.BUT...........the 3d experience wasn't bad and I will watch it again. I'll turn off the volume and provide my own background though.

Stunning
A really breathtaking way to view a safari documentary. This really is one made for 3D, very well thought out and filmed to really enhance the viewing. I've been on safari and it is the best way currently to share my experience, with this documentary you really get a sense of the landscape and the awsomness and majesty of nature. Really enjoyed it.
