Ndali Fairtrade Organic Vanilla Powder 13 g

I've always loved vanilla until now I've used a favourite syrup based vanilla so trying out the power is new to me. I've used 1 teasp in a Victoria sponge today and 1/2 teasp in some coconut oil chocolate made with cacao powder and I am really pleased with both. The aroma in the pot is very deep and rich and the powder very fine. With the chocolate recipe I poured some mix out before adding the vanilla to the other half mix to see what difference it was making and vanilla will be added to full mix next time. It certainly made a difference to the flavour - yum and of course the aroma is gorgeous. I think it will be great in custard and ice cream too. This is a fairtrade product produced in Uganda.The 13g pot contains 6 tsp and tells you 1 tsp is 1 extra strong pod. It suggests using 1/4 - 1 tsp in recipes requiring pods or extract.I did put 1 tsp in my sponge however the chocolate recipe I used on 1/2 teap which was less than suggested but the flavour hit I got from adding it was brilliant and to me just right. I will continue to use the powder in future its very easy to use and being fine blends in so well.

Tiny pot but lasted a while when used sparingly. Added lovely flavour to porridge and milky smoothies (the ingredients have to be limited as the vanilla is easy to overshadow by other ingredients - only ever used half a teaspoon at a time). Also, a bit expensive for what it is.

Not that great value. Smells lovely but the amount you'd have to put in to get a good strong flavour coming through in your food/ drink is a lot so it makes this quite an expensive purchase. I wont buy it again. I will say it smells lovely in the pot but if, like me, you are adding vanilla to your porridge I'd recommend Rice dream organic vanilla milk - healthy, tasty and a lot cheaper!

Very good product, fragrance not very strong but it is better than essence and does the job. Would buy again definitely.

Somewhat disappointed with this.While it has a very strong smell of vanilla I find the taste so subtle as to be almost non existent regardless of how much or how little I use.Perhaps I got a dud lot.

I have only good things to say! I love the package to begin with, it is colorful, modern, simply beautiful! Then vanilla powder itself is great, you only need a little amount, and it gives off a lot of flavor. Smells great too! :) I keep it in the fridge just so it stays fresh, but I think you can leave it at room temperature. Oh, and don't be fooled by it being only 13g! It actually can last months since you don't need much each time you use it!

Good product, smells nice and I recommend to buy if you like baking with nice vanilla powder

This was the cheapest organic vanilla powder I found. I like the fact that it is also fairtrade and whole vanilla beans were used to produce it, so no waste here. The powder has an intense flavour and a little goes a long way. I use a tiny bit in pancakes they were really tasty. I would recommend this product for now. Will have to see how long it lasts and whether the flavour doesn't fade after a few weeks.
