Wet and Dry Shaver - Does the job!
I had the older model of this shaver and it lasted me over 4 years, so when it broke, I thought I’d just get the equivalent as it never let me down. This shaver happens to be even better. My old one was good for wet shaving, but not perfect at dry shaving - ideal for when it’s cold and you don’t want to shave in the shower - this is likely due to its turbo boost, which you can see below the power-on/power-off button.Another plus with this shaver is it has 3 lights so you can work out when it needs charging, and speaking of charging, within an hour it’s full charged and lasts me a couple of weeks. As well as having a great battery life it is easy to hold (even easier than the previous model as its shape allows your index finger and thumb to hold it securely), it contours well to the face and neck, and is easy to rinse clean when done.If you found this review helpful, I would really appreciate it if you could give it a thumbs up. It lets me know that I am writing in a way that is useful to prospective buyers, and is a great motivation to keep writing detailed reviews. Thank you.

What a great shaver
During lockdown I got lazy working from home and my shaving routine slipped. Now lockdown seems to be easing I figured I would have to start shaving regularly again soon. I have not used an electric shaver for years but thought it might ease the transition a little. What a great shaver! These have really come on since the last time I had one.very lighweight to usecomfortable to hold1 hour to chargeSuitable for use wet or dryTells you when it needs cleaningFlip top head to cleanVery quick to get a close shaveA few extra comments:It can really only deal with 1-2 days of my stubble though. I suppose this will vary for individuals but I wouldn’t expect it to do more than a few days worth for anyone. If you don't intend to shave very regularly you probably wont get the best out of this.It works a little better for me as a wet shave, but you really need some soap / foam on your face to get the best out of it. With some soap it works really well.Takes a bit of getting used to. To get the best result you need to gurn a fair bit, and learn where it is likely to miss if you don’t pay enough attention. Turbo mode helps here.

What do you want? A shave like a blade shave, or something convenient?
When I was much younger, I went through the Philips 2 head shaver, a Remington, a Philips 3 head shaver, and a Braun. I'm now 60, single, not looking to date (so no worries over prickly face), and really can't be bothered with a daily wet, blade shave (which I've been doing for around 40 years now). For the past year, I've been more likely to shave once a week or so, and if I didn't suffer from beard induced spots, I'd probably have a beard down to my belly by now.I bought this shaver for convenience, not wanting to be one of the office scruffs. Having read several reviews, and weighing past experience, I went for this model - I have no interest in the wet or dry capabilities, if I'm going to get my face wet, I'll take the 60 - 90 seconds it takes to get a very close shave with a real blade, over the couple of minutes it takes for me to give up trying to get that close shave with this model). To be fair, I hoped for a closer shave from this shaver, especially at the price (£70 - £100 retail). That said, I've really had much worse. It won't give me nicks, I don't think it will generate skin rash no matter whether I feel the urge to use it several times a day, and I don't have to stand over a sink and lather up and spend £4 - £10 a month on good quality blades. Unfortunately, even after after several minutes or more, stretching old skin in various directions, the closest that I have achieved is similar to 24 hours after a good blade shave.Back in the 80's, Braun used to advertise that their shavers gave as close to a blade shave, or your money back. I found that to be near enough true at the time, but I had much younger skin - I wouldn't feel safe enough making a comparison without trying a new Braun model today, but I do know that this model, even with turbo, doesn't cut as close as I was used to back then. The rinse clean feature is new to me, I'm used to spending 5 seconds using a brush, rather than 20 seconds under a tap followed by 6 hours of air drying - you might consider whether that is a genuine 'feature' or not, but I would point out that you actually have the choice even if the literature doesn't mention it.I've seen reviews which say that some people have damaged or don't like the fact that the trimmer is a separate accessory, where you need to remove the shaver head and fit the trimmer if you want to use it - shocker, I'm from the generation where if you wanted to engage a trimmer, you pushed up a lever and out it popped, ready to use. Bigger shocker, you now have to pull up the shaver head to remove it (directly, straight up to avoid damage caused by people who clearly didn't have the confidence to follow the instruction, but chose instead to twist and wiggle the head until the plastic connection snapped), then fit the trimmer by pressing it straight down onto the connector. If I'd wanted to save the 3 seconds required to facilitate this, I'd have bought an electric shaver - oh, wait a minute, I did. It's negligible, people, really it is. Still not anywhere as close as a blade, but if you don't care about that, stop reading now and buy the shaver - unless the fact that it is a bit scratchy might bother you. If you only want to trim nose hair or ear hair (like most of us over 50's), it will be fine. If you want to use it to shape angled sideburns, or something more complicated (like getting right under the nose to trim upper lip hair which the heads can't reach), it's really not the best, and it can be uncomfortable scraping away trying to achieve the desired effect.Battery life is good so far, you will get a week or 2 (maybe more) between charges depending on how often you use it (I have to stress, despite my wanting a really close shave, I could go 2 - 3 days without thinking that I had to pick this shaver up because I've been asked if the price of steel has gone up again, I just think that if I'm going to spend over £70 on a shaver, I'd like to think I the shaver could get closer). Battery life may or may not fall off over time but even if it does, unless it gets to the point where it dies half way through every shave after a few months, who cares?Overall, I'm confident that I will use this shaver far more often than my blade razor over the next 10 years of my life. Replacement heads are inordinately expensive compared to the total price of a new shaver, but the chances of your replacing them over buying a new shaver will have to be weighed on the value that you place on this shaver, if you choose to buy it.All that said, I still give this 4/5 stars, despite the fact that buying and using this without ever resorting to using a quality blade razor will take you close to 2 years to make a cost / benefit saving, and will never be as close a shave. It doesn't come with a carry case - back in my day, an electric shaver was the kind of thing you used for travel purposes as much as anything else, and leaving it lying around the bathroom might feel right, but anywhere else in the home without a case just doesn't.As a final point, there's plenty more comparable shavers on the market, many far cheaper. I really can't say if any would be better or worse than this one, all that I can do is give you my experience of this particular model. Good luck with your choice

Light weight and easy to use
Having shaved with Panasonic razors for nearly 30 years, understandably I was concerned about changing to a rotary shaver! But it was the right choice. After the first shave I found that the shaver fitted around the contures of my face comfortably while giving me a close shave, the only thing that felt uncomfortable was my neck area which is sensitive. This is a learning curve which has to be approached differently, so I decided that over the next 14 days I would pass the razor over that area gently for the skin to become accustomed to the new shaver! The shaver itself is lightweight and easy to clean, I would recommend this to anyone who is thinking of changing from a foil razor. Updated 14/01/2021, been using this razor over 14 days now and this definitely a far superior shaver to the Panasonic. My kneck area has become accustomed to this shaver and now very comfortable to use! April 2023 unfortunately this razor is now making a screeching noise sounds like one of the cutter wheels is braking up, so I have purchased a new Panasonic shaver which is more reliable and cut's better than the Philips.

Fantastic experience overall. Will recommend to friends and family.
For safe and optimal use, please avoid using the shaver while showering or submerging it in water. Additionally, exercise caution when using the Turbo+ mode on sensitive skin, and do not use it for extended periods. Always follow the recommended use and cleaning instructions to prevent skin irritation and bacterial growth.
