Review: Brings Out the Leonardo In Me - Well if DaVinci could sculpt snails and sharks he might match my genius using this stuff which, it seems I have a talent for. At least that's what my grandchildren think anyway. Given the current situation my wife and I do our bit with our six year old grandchildren and when they come over and visit we make the effort to do something a bit 'old school' and hands on. This time we decided that modelling clay would be a good occupier of time and hands and it proved to by thus. Now, when dealing with six year olds one has to accept that there may be a fair bit of commissioning involved and that certainly proved to be the case with us with the small people in our lives requesting ever more complicated works of art. Well I gave it my best shot and managed a very good snail, a passable shark and a somewhat down at heel tyrannosaurus rex. I made sure it was a joint effort with my grandchildren making up various sausages to be formed collectively into various shapes. When we finished we had a collection of perhaps less than able animals but had used up quite some time together discussing and working on these art works. That's worth quite a bit I'd say and it's nice to see that even in these computer dominated times children can still get something from basic craft materials and a bit of help and time. To use it's easy. Just open the bag, cut off what you need and once you have kneaded it a bit to make it more pliable for moulding and forming off you go. It's water soluable so when joining or smoothing a little bit applied helps it out. Once the masterpiece is made all you have to do is leave it out to air dry which, it does in a couple of days in a warm environment. As it's water soluable it's easy to wash up afterwards with no manky stuff on one's hands. I'm not quite sure that would be the case on nice soft furnishings so best make sure wherever this is used is wipe down. Overall a great craft product even if you are a serious modeller or sculptor making genuinely good art.

**Q: can it be used for butter slime**
A: NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

**Q: How long does the clay take to dry?**
A: For big projects, such as those that take a kilo or more of clay, it will take up to a week to dry completely, make sure you leave lots of time for projects...

**Q: does it dry lighter in weight than when you work it? And is it waterproof when dry?**
A: It isn't waterproof and, in fact, will soften if left in water. This can be a good thing if you have clay that's dried out before you've used it as you can leave it in a container of water (overnight) and it will become workable again. Also, you can mix some clay with water until creamy to give you 'slip' which is a kind of glue for joining two pieces of clay together (but not dried clay pieces, I imagine). Finished sculptures can be waterproofed to some degree with varnishes - I'm not an expert on these. In addition to this, I've heard that you can apply a mix of PVA glue and water to a finished sculpture as this strengthens the clay and makes it more resistant to knocks. Dried clay can be quite fragile.

**Q: was wondering can this be used once dry in an aquarium?**
A: No definately not.....when it absorbs water it becomes unstable and releases toxins into the water...

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ makes lovely little decorations

I bought this to make little gingerbread men decorations for my daughters christmas party (they are decorating gingerbread men) i thought these would be a really cute keepsake that they could take home, but i wanted them to not need to be painted. The white looks so good! So easy to use, and well packaged. i was able to make 15 plain little gingerbread men, and then had some left over for some family ones with embellishments. They dry really quickly and look fantastic. I can't wait to see them on the christmas tree. If i remember to take a picture when they are on their tree i will post it too.
