Excellent box set of an excellent show. But no Dothraki-only subs, which is a pain.
Wonderful tv series and a very nice, sleek slim case set for a great price. Lots of commentaries and other goodies, and booklets that recap each episode. I have read many complaints here about the other box set, but this slimcase one is excellent.BUT, and it's a big but: some fool or the other decided NOT to include subtltes for the Dothraki language scenes only. Which means you have no subtitles, or you have to use subtitles for the entire episode, which nobody with a decent command of English needs or wants. To make this worse, as I sadly have come to expect from US and UK box sets, the general subtitles are single line and in a horrendous font that makes them hard to read without quickly going cross-eyed. I am Dutch and hence very used to subtitles, since foreign media is always subtitled here (rather than dubbed). It's clear US and UK companies have no idea what good subtitles look like...Apart from the ridiculous lack of Dothraki-only substitles, this is an excellent box set with lots of extra goodies, and great value for money!

Every single disk played fantastic highly recommended
I was a little bit cautious purchasing this due to other people's review especially saying series 4 skipped and was of poor quality howeve I've just finished the last problem and every disk in ever season was absolutely fine and the picture quality was perfect (I bought the DVDs) season 4 did skip on my small poor quality DVDPlayer so I played the disks on my lap top with not so much as a twitch so the fault was with the DVD player not the disks... I would recommend these to anyone

Avoid Blue Ray - get standard DVD format
A truly fantastic series ruined by the appalling quality of the discs. Scratches on almost every disc, continual jumping, freezing and jamming, after buying every disc and DVD player cleaner known to mankind we eventually gave up. Two replacement Blue-Ray box sets from HMV proved to be no better, only when reverting to standard DVD instead of Blue Ray have we been able to watch episode after episode without frustration. My advice is steer well clear of the Blue Ray version and stick to standard DVD format.

A real treat!
If you haven't watched this series yet, and you like fantasy, and especially if (like me) dragons fascinate you, then buy this (or the version with seasons 6 and 7) - you're in for a treat! This is a loooooong story, so long that I gave up on the books after reading about seven and no sign of any resolution. But, it is told so very well in this made-for-tv serial. Great casting (and its a huge cast), a wonderful range of locations, good acting and some serious special effects - the dragons are superb! - create something that grabs you and just won't let go.

Faulty dvds
Series is great but the dvds are faulty and therefore we cannot watch some of the episodes. I ordered this a couple of months ago for my husbands birthday and have only now begun to watch it so it is unlikely that we can get an exchange. Having not seen it before this is highly frustrating and can only assume that it is a poor quality recording, don't buy this.

DVDs faulty
Fantastic series but the DVDs are faulty, they keep freezing, and one episode doesn't play at all. When invented languages are spoken, subtitles aren't automatically displayed. So you have to stop, rewind, and select subtitles, then cancel subtitles when English is reverted to. A faff. All the disks have lines across them, because they are crammed too tightly into the cardboard packaging. I first watched all the seasons on borrowed non-slimline disks and they were fine.

Overall great - but some DVDs stuck in places on one DVD player
I purchased the DVD set and enjoyed the series, but three of the disks had points in them where they stuck, stuttered or completely froze. I resorted to watching those disks on a computer, which worked fine (i.e. no sticking or freezing).
