Review: 2TB green Xbox/ pc drive - Bought this in 2017 and has been working fine. Only in the last few days as it displayed a caution message during a diagnostic test. Nearly 10 years of use . I say this little drive is excellent and well worth the cost. When it fails ( which it will do soon) I will buy another one. It's been used on two different Xboxes and countless PC's. Buy it , it's well worth it.
Review: Lean, mean, storing machine - Unsurprisingly I bought this to go with my XBox one X, and rather than store games on the local hard drive, I store them all on this for easy transportation between different Xbox One consoles. I've got over 100 games installed and it's maybe just over half full, so plenty of storage. It's fast, quiet, and reliable. It's tucked away to I don't get to admire its looks, but it does look nice too with its green and black colour scheme. Setup was a breeze, just plugged it in, it was detected, and formatted as extra storage. Any games I had installed locally I moved across, and then set the Xbox to default to external storage for downloads and installs. Once when I turned the Xbox on after an update, it failed to show the games. A quick restart soon sorted that, and that's not the fault of the drive.

**Q: Is there any benefit to this over the seagate backup plus hub 8 tb other than the logo and an extra £40**
A: Just to clarify Ian Murphy's comment of "Yes. You can't run games optimised for the series x/s on anything but this or the internal." as Amazon group all the comments/answers together .... you cannot run X|S enhanced games from an external USB drive, only from the internal SSD or the Seagate 1TB Expansion SSD card.

**Q: Can this drive be used for pc?**
A: Indeed it can. I paid the extra money simply because the other drive is half the speed ands generally for backup only. This drive works perfectly on my Alienware system for the 'every day' stuff and the fast drives I have are used for everything else, but don't assume from what I said that this drive is horribly slow, it is not! 

While others here seem top just comment about the PC use for this drive I have successfully used it none stop for transferring stuff that I don't use all the time (pictures, archive video for editing and compiling etc.) and it has not failed in any way. Singular thing I don't like is the wall wart of a power supply that they have. But when you turn off the PC this drive turns off automatically too so it's not really a pain. USB 2 & 3 compatible and I use  mine with USB 3 which as most will know adds a far greater transfer rate. Typically I get about 200Mb speeds or thereabouts (it varies on what the drive is loaded with) and the 'free space in Windows 10 is in reality about 7.2 Terabytes of real storage. 

Highly recommended compared to other similarly priced stuff and some of the WD drives I looked at cost 1/3 more for USB2... this was by far the best choice for me and I don't care whether it says Xbox on the cover or whether it says peanuts :).

**Q: Can this be used with xbone and 360 at the same time (not literally of course) I.e. use 1tb for one and the other for 360??**
A: No it can only be used with one device. If you plug it into an Xbox one and then the 360 it would format it again and delete all the Xbox one data.

**Q: Is the 8tb model actually usb powered, as indicated by amazon's comparison table?**
A: The 8tb drive is a mains-powered 3.5" drive with 2x USB ports at the front, all of the other drives are USB-powered 2.5" drives with no additional features.

Seagate also do a 5tb version of this drive which works on the Xbox One once formatted in the settings, (this won't cause any data-loss on existing drives, so be sure to select the correct drive when you plug it in).

A very useful piece of equipment that no Xbox player can do without, your main hard drive space undoubtable fills up pretty quick with all them games and constant updates, this 2TB drive is such a lifesaver, plenty of great storage, very easy to use, just plug it in and away you go. you will need to format it first (takes seconds) you can save onto it immediately after you've plugged it in, you can transfer games straight over from your box hard drive or copy or move saves between them whenever, its very small so fits snug next to your box, the device will get warm when being saved on but then cools back down after, its a very useful bit of tech so its highly recommended if you need game space! You can also use it for photo and video space if you wish.
