What is ovulation? Ovulation is the process that results in the release of one or more eggs from your ovary. Each month, between 15 and 20 eggs mature inside one of your ovaries. The largest is pushed out into the pelvic cavity and swept into the fallopian tube. Your egg only survives for between 12 hours and 24 hours if it is not fertilised. There's only a small window each month during which you can conceive, typically no longer than about six days. This time leading up to ovulation is when you are most fertile (your fertile window). It's possible for sperm to survive inside you for up to about seven days. But the healthiest sperm, with the best ability to swim in a straight line (motility), result from your partner ejaculating every three days to four days ideally, given that you're trying for a baby, when you are having sex! Most conceptions result from having sex in the two days leading up to ovulation so to increase your chance of pregnancy, you need to ensure that you have sex at this time. An easy way to do this, is to try to have sex a couple of times a week throughout your cycle. Can ovulation kits help? Ovulation predictor kits (OPKs) can help you to identify your fertile window. Regular sex throughout your cycle is the best way to maximise your chances of conception. An OPK is a quick, easy and accurate way to predict ovulation in advance. It allows you to pinpoint your fertile window from the very first month. How ovulation kits work? Urine-based OPKs test your urine for an increase (surge) in luteinising hormone (LH). This happens one day to two days before ovulation. A small amount of LH is always present in your blood and urine. But in the days before ovulation, the amount increases by about two to five times. The 12 hours to 36 hours between the beginning of the LH surge and the moment when your egg is released is the most fertile part of your cycle. This is when you are most likely to conceive. How do I use an ovulation kit?

Arrived really fast and also came with 5 pregnancy tests which was a nice surprise. It's a bit fiddly to use in the fact that you need to pee on the stick (duh!) or dip the stick in collected urine; and there will be one or two lines after 3-5 minutes. The control line which indicates the test has worked. And the test line which is an indication of the lutenizing hormone being present in your urine.A negative result is a control line with no test lineOrA control line with a faint test line as lutenizing hormone is often present throughout your cycle anyway but that indicates it is not at a high enough concentration to suggest ovulation.A positive result shows the control line and test line being as dark as each other.HOWEVER this is where is may get confusing. Some women won't ever get a test line that is as dark as the control line. But they should consider it a positive result if the test line appears darker than previous tests. Now this is confusing as the lines change after a day or so as the stick dries out so it's hard to tell if it's darker then the previous day or not!My advice is; if you're just starting to conceive then buy a more expensive digital stick like clear blue as it will give you a digital read out of positive or negative. If you've been trying for a while and you're more in tune with your hormone levels and possible days of ovulation then save money and get one of these packs as I know from experience how many sticks your can get through in a month!I hope that was helpful!

Great buy
I was sick of buying expensive brands as ttc at the moment so my doctor told me to buy these. They work perfect. The strips are perfect and the lines come up good and clear. I'd definitely recommend these over the expensive brands plus you also get pregnancy tests with them which also work perfect.

False positives
If I could give one star I would, 4 out of the 5 pregnancy tests all came back negative and one came back with a very light positive ( false ) I tried another brand also that came back negative, so if your looking a pregnancy test that’s reliable don’t use this brand. Have not use the ovulation tests yet.
