Review: Wonderful pen, use it every day. - I bought this pen a year ago and I still carry it with me everywhere. It's comfortable to hold and pretty strong, I don't think I'd be able to snap it easily as it feels like it's made of metal. It also looks quite nondescript, so although it's more expensive than the average throwaway ballpoint pen, I don't think people would notice unless they recognize it as a Fisher. Maybe that's why mine hasn't been stolen yet, even though I never hesitate to lend people my pens. Other people tend to pocket flasher pens like Parker rather than give them back. I'm writing this review today because I just used it to sign the back of my bankcard. You know those anti-tamper signature strips on the backs of bankcards that are almost impossible to write on? Well, it wasn't entirely easy to write on, but I managed to write something that mostly looked like my signature on it using this pen.

**Q: what ink   fits this pen**
A: Fischer Space Pen refills fit the pen.  If I use a space pen every day, I will need to get a refill about once per year, but your mileage may vary depending upon use.  I usually pick up a black refill ar Staples.  If you go to spacepen.com, you can order the following refills:  - Medium width ink - Blue, black, red green, burgandy, purple, brown, turquoise, silver  - fine ink - Blue, black, red, green  - bold ink - blue, blackRefills are $6.  There are space pen refills will fit Parker pens with the included adapter.  They also have Cross type refills.

**Q: Can women use this pen?**
A: I laughed when my wife asked if she could use this pen, and she responded by showing me how the pen would look if I were Frankenstein with a pen through my neck....

So, yes, women seem to be able to adapt quickly to this pen.

**Q: How does this pen open? Is it a twist of the cap to advance the cartridge?**
A: It's a standard clicker pen. Really easy to use. You twist the endcap to replace the ink cartridge. It's a wonderful pen!

**Q: What is the barel of the pen made from, is it metal or plastic?**
A: The entire barrel (end-to-end) is metal, but not magnetic, and it appears to be BRASS. The internal spring (magnetic) is steel. The internal mechanism appears to be white plastic.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A good pen, writes very well, good value

I bought this pen to replace a "twist" to open one I have had for some 10 years, with the Fisher space pen refill, as it had a habit of staying open in my shirt pocket, allowing the ink to run , and mar my shirts ! So I needed to replace with a" push to close" type I like the matt finish of the pen. The barrel is brass metal, but the internals are plastic, and do not have the precision of feel you might expect from a high quality pen. The pen writes very well, and is smooth in operation. I initially found the pen a little short in length , but now I am used to it .Overall I am happy with the pen , and hope it will last as well as my previous space pen.
