Bees don't like a spot that is to shady, wobbles or is windy. When I first put mine up after a few months it had spider webs over it. Having looked in to this it was because the place I had put it was to dark. **Q: Autumn and winter are coming now. Are they still good to be placed outside at this time of year or shall I wait until spring?** A: Hi there. I am afraid I am not an expert but my understanding is that solitary bees will have laid their eggs and used the hive spring - summer and by autumn actvity will cease and the eggs will be incubating through the winter. However, I don't see why you can't put the hive up now!
