I have been taking benfotiamine for diabetic peripheral neuropathy, which began about a year ago with "tingling" in my toes. I found studies cited by Neuropathy Treatment Group showing positive results from Bentofotiamine, B12, and Alpha Lipoic Acid. While they offer their own supplement, my budget didn't allow it. I began taking the following: a Multi B vitamin supplement Bentofotiamine 150 mg per day (this product) B12 5000 mcg per day Alpha Lipoic Acid (R-ALA) 600 mg per day At the same time, my doctor put me on a low dose blood sugar med and I cut out added sugars and starch. Since I began this regimen, the tingling has slowly but definitely receded, and is now barely noticeable. I started at doses closer to the study doses, but reduced this to 1 of each pill a day after the first bottle for convenience, and I didn't really notice improvement until after lowering the doses. I think it just takes time. I believe that getting sugar under control may stop the damage, but these B vitamins are crucial to repairing or regenerating nerve tissue. Some B Vitamins can give you extremely vivid dreams. I take these vitamins before bed, because I find this entertaining, but if you would prefer not to liven up your dreams you should take them in the morning.

I'm still not sure "If" this product is as good as the one I used before I started this one. I've only been using it about three weeks. But I can say at least it is working to some degree as the other one did. And it it is a lot cheaper which means a lot to those of us that cannot afford the expensive supplements. I will continue to use the product as I bought enough for about 3 months at a much lower amount than the previous product I was ppaying for. Jennie V..
