Pretty standard basic rice cooker. Ok for a first try
We cook brown or white rice 3-4 times a week, so have got through four or five cookers, from low cost to very pricey. We gave up trying to cook complicated dishes a long time ago; a decent wok or heavy based pan does a better job, so can only comment on rice cooking.Cooks rice quicker than others we’ve used, but this is because the inner pan is so thin it heats up quickly. That means the rice sticks to the non stick surface more than with other models. It cleans up ok, but the wasted rice loses it stars. Had this one about four months, and Teflon surface still looks ok.The keep warm function seems too hot and dried rice out within minutes. We had to resort to adding water back, which resulted in lumpy rice. Now we just switch off the cooker, and eat within a few minutes.Grain separation is poor, even after meticulous pre-washing. We’ve varied rice/water ratio to see if that helps, but we get similar results.Cooker seems well-made, with good hinges and a solid seal. Only design flaw is that the cook/warm switch is very fiddly if you’ve got big fingers or no nails! Accessories are good quality.Looks nice on counter top.Not sure we’d buy again, but decent value if you are/have a starving student.

Pleased with my cute rice cooker
When looking at the reviews I was a bit skeptical cause there was so many ( perfect possitive reviews or mega negative ones ) I ordered it 22 pm a Tuesday and got it Thursday morning at 10 am and I got the standard shipping so I was soooo of happy when I got it so fast cause it had originally told me the earliest I'll get it will be in 7 days , I live in London idk if that's a reason to why I got it fast ?? I've used it once cooks the rice really nice cause u can make the rice to your taste by how much water you add , I used easy boil rice though so imma try with other rices in the future , the machine looks mega cute and it definitely is smaller inside then your regular 10 cup rice cooker , cause when I took a look at it inside it seemed that you can either boil the rice or use the steam basket, cause with the huge rice cooker I had before you could even use both at the same time, but I don't mind cause I really needed a rice cooker that could cook smaller portions since i need it for max 1-2 people since. I am 23 currently studying so it's also a big plus that it isent as big as a normall rice cooker it's like a mini me version. Anyhow I am happy and I hope it lasts for a good time and now I can take use of that 10 kilo rice bag i got.

Hard crust of rice forms at base of pot
I’ve had this for about 8 months now. I cook rice about 2x per week. At first it was great and after about 2 months, the rice was sticking to the bottom of the pot and forming a hard crust, so have to make sure you don’t scrape that when dishing up as it is inedible (and wasteful). The pot is easy to clean but I think the temperature at the bottom of the pot is not regulated causing this crust to form. I’ve had several rice cookers and this has never happened before. I wouldn’t recommend this and I’ll be buying a different one.

Happy shopper
I was very pleased at the speed of this delivery, it arrived within 2days. Previously I had a tiger rice steamer which I had for around 16 years and it was fabulous but needed to replace it , checked the prices but tiger were very expensive but this I Viking rice cooker was half the price and looked and did the same. I have tried it and it is good but unfortunately the instructions are very difficult to understand as I don't think the person who wrote it was fluent in English as it sounds total rubbish. Luckily I had similar before so was able to work it.

Simple and effective for my jollof
Bought in 2014. Used twice on holiday and Jeff in attic. Brought back into use this week (Nov 2020). Good as gold. Jollof rice was fab and ready in 40 minutes because I used cold water and stopped it midway to add more ingredients. This unpretentious gadget has a switch that goes from hot to warm, and the lid can be opened at any time to check the cooking. So good.

Excellent purchase
I was sceptical about buying a rice cooker, but after much nagging from my partner, I caved in - and I'm very glad I did. Before, I would rarely eat rice, as I'm an awful cook and I would always burn it, or undercook it, but never get it right. That's a thing of the past now. With this rice cooker, I can eat rice whenever I want to, cooked to perfection. It can take a while to cook the rice, but it is worth the wait when it comes out - so long as you add more water than the instructions say, it is perfect.

Perfect in every way!
I had one of these models when I lived in Thailand, and I used it for so many things, even making brownies! Since leaving Thailand, I've missed my rice cooker, so decided to buy another. I am so pleased I did. It works perfectly; no issues at all (no burned rice!) and the size is just right to cook two cups of rice (enough for four servings). The steamer basket means I can also cook sticky rice, bao, dim sum, and jiaozi!

Cooks great rice but need to replace after a year
This review is after 1 year of use. This rice cooker cooks rice perfectly, it comes out nice and fluffy. I would recommend that you switch off the mains power after the rice is cookedsince the keep warm function will overcook and harden the rice if you leave it on too long. The teflon lining in the inner pot has started to come off in spots and we only use the plastic spoon provided with the cooker so am a bit disappointed with the longevity of this since my previous one lasted 3 years and I cant find a replacement inner pot so will have to buy a new rice cooker.
