Microwave Rice Cooker

I love this! For the first time I've made rice as good as my husband. Before I would always over-fill a saucepan because I was scared I'd forget it and it would burn. Sometimes it would bubble over the cooker. Always soggy or overdone.This can turn off when it's done (using the microwave), it has a drainy bit so the top is getting more steamed than soaked. It wont overflow. It wont burn. Okay, if you put hardly any water in you'll just crisp up the rice- but it's just more fool proof that the traditional method. It's easy to handle (although getting one basket out of the other is a little tricky if it's hot- but you don't really need to do that). I have also used this for steaming new potatoes and will use for even more things too. It's a great shape and contraption. I thought I might use once and forget about it, but it's my go to rice cooker now (especially on hot heatwave days). The cooker makes the kitchen so hot that I only want to microwave things. There are so many pro's to this, it is worth buying. It is quite pricy, but it you are using microwave rice packets, you will make your money back in no time. Oh, it's also quicker. It did my 25 min brown rice in about 15 mins. So very happy with that too. Nothing bad to say. It dishwashes well . I recommend.

Fed up of boiling over pans, I thought I'd give this a try. It seems well designed, with double wall and an inner and outer lid to reduce the likelihood of water bubbling over. The inner bowl has holes in the bottom, which I found a few grains of basmati rice managed to fall through, so cooking grains like quinoa or cous cous wouldn't work. The instructions that come with it list suggested rice weights/water volume in ounces/fluid ounces. Some larger instructions with metric measures, as well as cooking times for 800W as well as 1000W, would be welcome. Fluid and weights for basmati rice would also be helpful, as it seems to absorb more water than jasmine rice.I've cooked mature basmati and long grain brown rice, both to good effect. I like how it keeps its heat better than a pan, meaning that I can cook the rice and it stays warm whilst I cook the main dish in the microwave.Only concern is that a brown patch appeared on the outside of the grey bowl after I used it first time. It didn't wash off, so it is probably a contaminant in the plastic that caused the discoloration.Overall happy with it, despite the two issues I've highlighted.

Not as good as our old rice cooker, which is no longer available. Takes longer with more water.

The lid of this microwave cooker completely melted when i used it for the very first time. I then had to put it straight in the bin as it was no longer suitable for use. I am extremely disappointed

I love this rice cooker. I bought the first one to use at work so I would not have to use microwave pouch rice. It cooks the rice perfectly, it tastes so much nicer than the rice in the pouches and I will soon be saving money as the cost of the rice is so much less. Also it is less messy to use than using a pan and the rice comes out better too so I bought this one for home. I've cooked pasta in it as well and am happy with that too.

Fails to deliver.The lock systems are not good.

Cooks my rice perfectly in 10 mins! Had Enough of purchasing "uncle bens microwave rice" when in a rush at work , or when didn't have time to prep food night Before! Now just place my rice with herbs and water and leave in the microwave ready for lunch! Save money and eat better rice! 👍👍

I like it ok. It lost a star because no matter the quantity it bubbles over making a right mess of the microwave plate. However rice comes out perfect every time. So if you don't mind cleaning up after each use this is a decent buy.
