Designed for advanced modelers aged 12 and up, it includes authentic details like a swivelling snorkel mast, flak guns, and decals for four historic U-boats, offering a challenging and rewarding build that captures the essence of WWII Atlantic submarine warfare. ## Description From the manufacturer Submarine Type VII C/41 Starting mid-1943, 91 u-boots Type VII C/41 have been launched. By then, the conditions of the battle had totally changed. The "wolfpack tactic" achieved then seldom positive results against better protected convoys, especially with the introduction of air umbrellas. With the aim of a better defence when surfaced, the Type VII C/41 u-boots were fitted with a modified, larger bridge called "large wintergarten (winter garden)" armed with two 20 mm flakzwillings and one automatic 37 mm M42U flakkanone, which are reproduced with precision in the kit. A swivelling snorkel mast (also swivelling in the kit) for fresh air and fume exhaust, and four pressure boxes with 5-man floats were additional typical of these boats. The use of better steel sheets allowed the maximum depth to reach 250 metres. It included 3 different markings, so it's possible to create a Wolfpack of these u-boats. The fit was great and is a newer tooling from around 2009, so it's as expected. All in all a great kit by revell, the only downside is the censoring of the flag, but that's understandable. If you've built a relatively modern revell kit, you know what quality to expect. Then it has to be painted, something which several builder take very seriously and try to create a life like worn look with rust etc. When finished most of the fun is gone and the model will be placed on the shelf. It is not supposed to go in the water, it will not float straight or even at the right waterline. Eventually it will flood and sink. Moreover lots of delicate plastic parts will break off and become lost. The overall finish is good with numerous u.boat colour schemes and boats which served the German navy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice kit, not the best kit ive made but nothing bad about it *by M***S on 8 February 2019* The kit has pleanty of detail and goes together nicely and only has minimal flashing. It does however have all plastic construction even on hand rails and hand rails appear to be over scale thickness. The kit also has some questionable choices on parts that could be moulded together but instead are seperate but offer no benifit- for exaple the seal where the prop shaft meets the hull could be part of the hull but consists of 2 seperate parts with the seam meeting allong the side where it is visable.
