A great little full spectrum UFO lamp
I bought this for my 21 year old Calathea rufibarba (furry feather plant) called Erik! He lives in my office and has grown huge over the last couple of years. The office faces north west so doesn't receive much sunshine, only in the late evening in summer. Our winters are very dark and even though these plants don't like direct sunshine he wasn't getting enough light as he's just too big for the window now. I tried a couple of fluorescent desk lamps but he was loosing the lovely red colour on the underside of his leaves. I did a bit of research on suitable lighting and learned about so-called full spectrum LED lamps, and this one seemed to fit the bill at a great price.I've only had this lamp over him for a couple of days but already I can see a difference in his leaves, and they are responding to the light by moving flat rather than pointing up (these plants are sometimes called "prayer plants" as they fold up their leaves at night). The lamp is very bright and imparts a bonny magenta colour in the corner of the office. It has a fan in it which is audible but not too loud to be annoying. I have the lamp positioned about 30cm from the top leaves and there seems to be plenty light penetrating to his lower leaves, with very little heat to cause the leaves to brown. Altogether a great little light and well worth the money, I'll update this review after a few weeks to see how Erik's getting on.

the colours are quite purple as the picture shows but until the sun comes back it makes for a good low wattage high lumens devic
Bought it as a Christmas gift for grandma's plants to over winter in a dark corner of the house, very little heat emanating from it, the colours are quite purple as the picture shows but until the sun comes back it makes for a good low wattage high lumens device to keep things ticking over til April.

Good from what I can tell!
Arrived in very tight well protected packaging, not sure about about the actual benefits it provides for the plants due to inexperience with LED growlights. I have just put cactus seedlings and a indoor rose bush so will see how that works out.
