An incredible series

So, here’s every episode to date of everyone’s favourite TV show in one handy box set and it pretty much ticks all the boxes fans of Sherlock will want ticked. By now we all know Sherlock is rather wonderful. A twenty first century re-imagining of Conan Doyle’s iconic detective it achieved instant popularity and an iconic status of its own. It’s not hard to see why. Extremely well written , character driven & very funny, with star making, showy performances from Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman it’s pretty hard to resist. Yes, repeated viewing reveals that things don’t always add up but Sherlock is such a glittery confection that I find I don’t really care. One of the reasons I really like it is that it’s a rarity in BBC drama output, a show that occupies the sadly deserted middle ground between ‘heartwarming’ fare – Call the Midwife, Our Zoo – and the downright miserable & disturbing – Happy Valley, The Fall. There’s no lingering for hours here over the mental torment of the victims family. Bad things happen, shocking things happen but funny things and daft things happen too. The bad things aren’t dwelt on, there’s a shrug and we move on. It’s very much The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes & Doctor Watson rather than crime drama and steers well clear of the gritty realism & misery that we get far too much of on TV these days. There are generous extras for all three series – behind the scenes & ‘making of’ features, cast interviews and in the case of series one and two, two episodes of each with commentary. Mark Gatiss and Stephen Moffat are always good value when they’re talking like the Conan Doyle fanboys they genuinely are. I was a bit disappointed there wasn’t a single episode of series three with commentary but I suppose all involved are very busy these days and it seems unfair to quibble when the content is very generous on the whole. This box set was good value for money too. Every home should have one.

I wanted to get the physical copies of Sherlock so I could watch them anytime.

3 Series of Sherlock for under £14. This is not the best British series, but the best series out there. The thing I love about this is after a great debut, the series just kept getting better and better. The first series is a modernisation of the original Sherlock Holmes, the second is bit more and the third is where Benedict Comberbatch really made the role his own, that is not any easy thing to do with such an iconic character. In fact the whole cast are great. Martin Freeman is great as Watson. Again in the first series. I was not sure I liked him as Watson, the in series 2 I though he was ok, then series 3 I thought yep he is good. In fact the chemistry between the whole cast is great. I think the do classics justice. This series is serious, dramatic, and even funny in the right places. All i can say this series is perfect.

Item arrived early and undamaged, disc's played without issue, well packaged and in great condition, no complaints with this seller. Recommended.

Amazing value under €7 for the three series. It's funny to rewatch and see things that are show it's age. Like repeatedly calling a phone "a camera phone" to emphasize that it can take pictures.

Regrettably, I missed the first series when it aired, and so when the second series came along I didn't bother to pick it up either. Recently, I decided to give it ago, and I was blown away. Astounding casting, plots... Mesmerising and the best (in my view) version of Sherlock. Part of me is glad for getting all three series at once- I could not have tolerated the year-long waits I have now in anticipation for series 4!

Ich bin auf diesen UK-Import gestoßen, da mir der wesentlich günstigere Preis im Vergleich zu den einzelnen Staffel ins Auge gefallen ist. Dachte, ich versuche es einfach mal - und ich habe es nicht bereut! Bild und Ton sind meines Erachtens einwandfrei, das Englisch ist meist gut verständlich und aufgrund der perfekten und durchgehend verfügbaren englischen Untertitel machte das Fehlen der deutschen Tonspur absolut nichts aus. Da ich bei meinen DVDs die deutsche Version meist ohnehin gar nicht ansehe, weil ich die Originalversionen bevorzuge, ist diese Box für meine Bedürfnisse ideal. Die äußere Box ist aus dünnem Karton und mag vielleicht nicht ewig halten, ist aber sehr dekorativ und jede Staffel ist ja noch in gewöhnliche, bebilderte DVD-Plastik-Hüllen verpackt - daher wäre es auch nicht so schlimm, falls die äußere Box mal kaputt werden sollte. Zum Inhalt: Es sind alle 3x3 Episoden aus 3 Staffeln enthalten. Zur Qualität des Inhalts muss ich ja nicht viel sagen - "Sherlock" ist momentan meine absolute Lieblingsserie, die Episoden gleichen aufgrund der 90-min-Länge eher Filmen und sie sind unterhaltsam, lustig, spannend und toll gespielt - Kompliment an die Hauptdarsteller Benedict Cumberbatch und Martin Freeman; aber auch die anderen Rollen sind toll besetzt. Habe schon mehrere Holmes-Verfilmungen gesehen, die mir bisher auch alle gut gefallen haben, aber die Holmes-Watson-Freundschaft ist hier einfach einzigartig gut dargestellt und zusätzlich zu den interessanten Kriminalfällen eine der Hauptstärken der Serie. SPECIALS: Habe noch gar nicht alles durch, aber es gibt pro Staffel eine kurze Making-of-Doku, die sehr interessant und sehenswert ist und es gibt z.B. auch Episoden mit Audiokommentar von den Schauspielern/Autoren. Es stimmt, wie bereits mehrfach erwähnt wurde, dass diese Option nicht bei jeder einzelnen Episode vorhanden ist, aber doch bei den meisten - und der Kommentar ist immer sehr informativ und für Fans einfach toll. Fazit: Absolut empfehlenswert für alle, die einigermaßen gut Englisch können und die das Fehlen der deutschen Tonspur nicht stört.

Una serie bellissima, interpretata in maniera magistrale che ti fa incollare la faccia al video fino alla fine. Autori eccelsi, regia bellissima (qualche scena eccessivamente lunga di troppo, forse, ma. assolutamente trascurabile come particolare), storia avvincente, scenografie perfette, è tutto davvero coinvolgente, serie oserei dire "cattiva" in certi punti oserei dire. Bello, bellissimo... e naturalmente, Cumberbatch e Freeman sono decisamente due superlativi interpreti, una rarità avere due attori così nella stessa serie. Direi che siamo di fronte a quasi un miracolo, perchè per far risaltare gli attori serve una buona storia, e viceversa; qui ci sono riusciti. D'altronde, nelle serie TV, gli inglesi sono un passo avanti, da un pezzo, e qui come agli Emmy ne abbiamo avuto la prova. Consigliatissima! Il servizio di Amazon è stato ineccepibile

He comprado esta edición porque sabia que era la de UK. A parte de costar menos, es diferente a las de España (y eso quieras o no... gusta). Está en ingles así que si buscas en español, esta no es tu edición. Recomendable 100%

I couldn't be happier with this set! Anyone interested in this set most likely already knows how incredible Sherlock is, so I'll focus my review on the actual product. The box itself, as well as the individual fold out cases for each season, are beautifully designed, user friendly, and well-made. Each individual season has its own fold-out case with pictures, episode blurbs, and eye-catching designs, so the set is a fantastic item for any collector. I place high value on the packaging for products like this and am always trying to get my hands on a nice-looking box set with more to offer than some cool cover art and a plastic case, so this set has me extremely satisfied. The price might be a little high compared to what each season may cost individually, but for packaging like this, plus the photo book, this box set is well worth it.

Panasonic DMR-BRX2000にて、通常通り、問題なく再生・操作できています。 ブルーレイですから当然ですが、高画質・高音質、そして英語字幕がうれしい限りです。 国内版が値下げにならないかずっと待っていましたが、気配もありませんので、こちらがRegion All との説明があり決心。 PCでしか見られないかも…いやきっと大丈夫、とドキドキしていましたが、結果にホッとしました。 他の購入者さま達のレビューが大変参考になりました。 価格も1/10と言ってもよく、ありがたい買い物でした。 イギリス英語を必死に聴き取る訓練にもなっています。 吹替版の録画もありますが、ネットで原語・訳語ともじっくり読むこともでき、新たな発見があります。 時間はかかっても、全話見終わるのが楽しみです。
