Fantastic lightweight headphones. Can connect to 2 devices simultaneously.
I held back writing a review on these initially as there were a number of reviews that criticised the quality of them. After now owning and using them for a few months I can give an honest opinion on how good they are. First of all these are a great lightweight set of headphones. They are used for 90% of teams meetings and 10% listening to music. One of the best features of these headphones is that you can simultaneously have the headphones connected to your phone and laptop at the same time, so very easy to switch from listening to music on Spotify to connecting straight into a Teams meeting. This seems to work flawlessly. I have had various headphones previously and just swapped from a pair of Sony in ear buds, but these always seem to loose battery after 3 hours and I ended up having to default to cheap plug in headphones halfway through the day, so not ideal! Quality of the headphones is great rather than premium feeling. Totally acceptable though and as they are so light weight I don't feel wearing them is ever a chore they have never caused any aches on my ears after prolonged use (unlike my Sennheiser music headphones) The pads on the earphones pivot to align to your ear shape and the head band extends to the size of your head. The headband seems to stay in place well, this is mainly due to the rubber type pad underneath the top band. It would have been nice to have this made out of some nice alcantara or something but this is a small criticism. The headphone mic can be swivelled up our the way when you have no need to talk, and there is a small magnet that snaps the back of the mic into a small recess on top of the band so it doesn't fall out of place, quite a neat solution. Connectivity can be by Bluetooth directly to the headset or by using the dongle. If using the dongle in your laptop, the headset connects straight away without any Bluetooth setup. Using the dongle also gives you an LED indicator of the connectivity status, green if it's connected, red if you are in a call etc. This is useful indicator of you can't quite work out of the headphones are or not connected. I had this dongle plugged into a USB extension originally so didn't spot the LED, but now I have it plugged into the side of my laptop I always know that they are connected. On the right hand side of the headset there is a red illuminating halo that displays if you are busy in a teams call, great to give people around you an indication if you are busy to stop un planned interruptions etc. I have also only just realised that there are a number of shortcut buttons on the side of the headset that allow you to raise the volume up and down, mute and unmute. If I remember correctly you can use ame buttons to skip tracks when listening to music. Sound quality is good, again clear and prioritised for voice clarity, exactly what I wanted. Good sound for music, but obviously music oriented headphones would have a richer bass stage. The headphones don't have noise cancelling which is a real shame, so people on the other side of the call can hear your background noise. It would make these headphones even better if they had noise cancelling. Battery life on the headset is fantastic, I easily get two days heavy use without any charging. I tend to charge at this point though so although I would likely get longer battery performance they get charged to stop them going flat. There is however a USB cable that allows them to be powered whilst also charging if flat, so you never have to worry about searching for a spare set of headphones. The headphone don't have Boise I purchased these from Amazon warehouse for £93 and they were basically new in the original box. Really pleased with these headphones and would highly recommend.

Great headset, but just good headphones
I have the MS (Lync) Stereo version of this headset, and I'm very pleased with it. THE GOOD The sound quality is excellent. In particular, when I'm talking I don't hear my own voice played back through the headset - and that alone is a vast improvement on the wired Microsoft headset I've been using up until now. The battery lasts very well. I use the headset a few hours a day and charge it every few days and haven't had it run low. It's really comfortable. The ear pads are smaller than they seem from the images but they sit very comfortably on the ears. The bridge between them isn't padded, but it's kind of rubberised and I don't think that padding would make any real difference. The range is good. I have tried my laptop's internal Bluetooth and the supplied dedicated dongle and I get better range from the dongle. With the dongle I can just about break the connection by going to the very far end of a large house, and internal Bluetooth stands up to a couple of interior walls but the quality falls off quickly. I strongly recommend using the dongle. It handles connection to multiple devices well. It was easy to connect to both my phone and PC simultaneously. THE BAD It's a headset, not a pair of headphones. The sound is very good, but it's not intended for audiophiles listening to music. If you're buying this for voice calls and a bit of music/film then you'll be really pleased, but it just isn't tuned for music. The microphone boom flips up and is held against the head band with a magnet, which would be nice if it worked. The magnet is weak and the ear pads are designed to swivel relative to the band, which means that the mic and the band will only be properly aligned if you have a strange shaped head. That being said, the boom stays up perfectly well without the magnet - it just pokes out a little bit. It's not cheap. I use Lync on average about an hour a day so over a couple of years the cost of this is nothing to me compared to the convenience of good call quality and being able to walk away from my computer during a call. But the fact remains this is an expensive headset and if I expected to use it only occasionally then I would have bought something cheaper. The headset saves power by switching fully on only when there is sound to output. That means that when you start playing sound then there is a short lag (about 1-2 seconds) before the headset wakes up and starts playing audio. That's annoying when e.g. starting to watch a short YouTube clip - you begin to play the video and all is silent, then a couple of seconds in the audio switches on and you end up rewinding to hear what you missed at the start. It's not a big deal and not really what the headset was intended for, but it bugs me a little.

Very good, definitely worth the price
To try to make it useful, I'm writing this after a few weeks of heavy use. I spent a long time looking before finally splashing out. Overall, I'm pleased with my choice, these are very good, with only a few very minor complaints. I tried and failed to associate the headset with my laptop's built-in BlueTooth; in the end I had to use the Jabra BlueTooth dongle supplied with the headset. This is a little annoying, as it sticks out; so I have to remove/re-insert it when travelling. Build quality is, I think, better than the pictures might suggest. Nothing looks overly fragile, and they have held up well. Sound quality (both send and receive) is good: maybe not as high as dedicated (and expensive) music headsets, but good enough for me and anyway that is not their intended primary use. It is clearly well optimised for Lync/Skype, and works well with both. Speech in both directions is very clear, with no extra delays or other artifacts. Battery life is a little better than claimed (but then they are still new). It is easy to start (and stop) charging even while they are in use, provided you use a charger and not a laptop USB port (if you do that while on a call there is a short disconnect while the laptop sound settings are changed). I found the BlueTooth range excellent: I can walk several rooms away and remain connected. I wasn't expecting that, the building is old and WiFi is terribly degraded though the walls. Comfort is better than I expected even though the headband is not padded. I found myself re-adjusting how it sits on my head towards the end of each day during a series of 8-hour meetings, but overall I'm pretty happy with that aspect. Such long meetings are unusual for me, otherwise they would justify spending a lot more. Many mentioned the magnetic microphone store does not work well. This is really nothing: the microphone boom will happily stay in the "up and out of the way" position anyway. The magnet only clamps it to the headband so it looks a tiny bit neater. Anyway, the magnet works on mine. I did install the software from Jabra's website. Its main use is to update the firmware (both BlueTooth dongle and headset). I find I use it to check the battery charge as well, it is quite convenient. The product description mentioned multi-association. I had hoped I could associate the headset with both my laptop and phone. But this is not possible, this was not what the wording meant (careful reading is a good idea!). But changing associations back and forth is tolerably easy if you want to do that. Overall: well worth the money over cheaper headsets, and does the job it was designed for very well.

Top-class wireless VoIP/Bluetooth headset
I have been using one of these (the "Standard UC/Stereo" version) for several months now and I love it. It spends most of the day paired with both my mobile (via Bluetooth) and with a desktop PC (using the included dongle). I run a generic SIP client (Zoiper) on the PC. Using this headset, I can easily make/answer calls from either phone. Audio quality on both is excellent. The headset is very comfortable to wear. It is a nice size and weight and exerts just the right amount of pressure. The stereo version provides the perfect amount of noise isolation: the worst of the office distractions are kept out but I can still hear enough of my own voice when I am talking that it feels natural (this is a problem with some other stereo headsets I have tried). The included dongle enumerates as an audio device on the PC, which saves an awful lot of faffing about with bluetooth pairing (which can be hit-and-miss under Windows, in my experience). Just plug the dongle in and tell the SIP client to use the audio device that appears. Nice. It would be very easy to walk off and forget the dongle, though. Replacements are available but they are horrifyingly expensive. Battery life is pretty good. When it does run out, you can charge it with the (included) USB cable while using it normally. For use just as Bluetooth headphones (e.g. just for listening to music), the microphone stows above the headband and is held in place magnetically. In truth, one of the few faults I can find is that this magnetic mechanism is a bit on the feeble side and doesn't hold onto the microphone all that well. Its a fairly minor complaint. All in all, I'm very satisfied. PS - There is a similar (and suspiciously similar-looking) Plantronics product available that I have also used for comparison. The Plantronics one has active noise cancellation (which works really well) and is a little bigger but otherwise has a similar feature set. It costs more than twice as much. The Plantronics one is better, but I'm not sure it is twice-the-price better.

Far better than juggling a handset
Bought for use via my laptop on company's RingCentral account. Also worked fine on BT CloudPhone. Incoming sound quality is excellent, with almost no glitches or warbles. Callers say outgoing sound from mic is also OK. Needs a USB slot for the dongle, but this can be on an external hub. I tend to put it on charge (USB micro 'B' cable, like Android phone charger) after every few calls, but had no problem on a continuous 2-hour session. Ear cuffs lightweight and comfy, not too much pressure, mic boom held magnetically in a little slot out of the way when not needed. Used in a quiet environment so can't comment on any noise cancelling. Other than that, highly recommended.

Liberating!
First off, this was bought as "Used - Good" with cosmetic package damage for a roughly 20% discounted price. Actual item, not a mark anywhere on the package or item, so literally as-new - bonus! As for the headset itself, I bought a wired Evolve 40 to test before bulk-buying for our office. While excellent, the cable was coiling and getting in the way overthe keyboard so I thought I'd try the Evolve 65 after hesitating based on a few of the reviews. All I can say is, for me, with my setup (a DELL Latitude 5490) the Evolve 65 works flawlessly. Connected via Bluetooth to my laptop the audio is slightly worse that when using the provided dongle, but still acceptable. Range was also excellent on both, allowing me to roam the house with no dropouts. However, I would strongly recommend that you do use the dongle as you get a number of benefits: - It is called "PC" when it connects - It connects faster than regular bluetooth - The audio quality is almost as good as the wired version - There is an indicator LED on the dongle that shows the status (blue for standby, green for in-use, red when on mute) - You get full control of your computer volume and Skype for Business The battery is also excellent. After a charge and 2 or 3 hours of use, it still reports a full battery. The headset itself is lightweight, comfortable to wear for extended periods, and not having to mess about with a cable is, as per the title, liberating. Noise cancelling on the mic, based on the Evolve 40, is also really good at blocking out background chatter. The only thing I'd avoid (and did) is the over-priced stand. It still needs you to line up a micro USB connector. Instead look out for those cables or adapters that make use of magnetic connections for an easy (and reversible) way charge the device without having to fumble around lining things up. Edit: Forgot to add, people have been saying it's hard to gauge how loudly you are speaking when wearing these. Granted, they do have some noise insulating properties but I can't say it has been an issue at all.

Almost perfect, but don't drop them!
Update for 2018: A colleague who'd been having the same audio issues as me with these said a firmware update in 2018 had fixed them. I dug them out, almost 1½ years after giving up on them and did the update - audio now working perfectly! My only gripe now is they didn't survive falling off my head to the floor. The only mechanical connection from the ear cups to the headband is a thin plastic tube carrying wires through it, which the ear cups swivel around. A small drop caused one ear cup to break off and dangle for a few seconds by the two fine wires momentarily, before they snapped too. My summary would now be: almost perfect, but don't drop them - very fragile design. 2016 review: I want to like these headphones, I work from home and do a lot of conference calls over Lync/Skype. Pros: Build quality, comfort and features, particularly dual connectivity with a phone at the same time as a PC Cons: Everyone else on the calls says my audio goes robotic or unintelligible every few minutes for about 30 seconds. I'm using an HP Probook 430 G1 laptop running Windows 7, so I accept it could be a driver issue. Given they were £100 I've struggled on with them, tried recording sound with other software and the same thing happens, so it's not Skype or network issues. Updating the firmware has made no difference. Stated 30m range is more like 10m straight line with no obstacles. You can't go to grab a cup of coffee in the kitchen next door whilst on a call, I've tried in three different houses. Not really suitable for the professional homeworker. I'm going back to a wired headset.

Fashion over function
Good Points It's fast to get out when you get a meeting reminder in Outlook. You just flick on the on button, you get "pc connected" in your ear, and off you go. There are no wires to worry about which is one of my main reasons for upgrading. The dongle is easy to pair with if you only want it for pc use. It's a stylish minimalist design. I tried a logitech wireless headset and it was totally unusable. This headset is usable and will work fine, just don't expect it to excellent and do expect some moderate annoyances. Problems The problems I experienced include it being difficult to hear properly on the stereo version. The headset blocks your ears so you can't hear your own voice. If you must buy it I would get the mono version instead. It's not that comfortable to wear compared to the Jabra UC Voice 750 MS Mono that I have used for 5 years and always liked. If you tilt your head forwards the headset falls off meaning you must always look forwards! This happens because it's mainly plastic so there's nothing to keep it on except a small strip of rubber material. It's not as comfortable as the UC Voice either. Magnet does not work properly. So many other people have mentioned this issue but nothing has been done about it yet (new purchase in May 2018). To me it's not much of a serious issue but the microphone does not stick to the headset properly and any kind of twisting motion causes it to pop off all the time. The mic does not fall down so it's only a minor issue in my opinion. Cannot re-pair with pc after using bluetooth. This one I really bothers me. I tried to listen to music on bluetooth with my smartphone. When I was finished I tried to go back to pc connection but couldn't. I switched off the bluetooth on the phone but it did not revert back to pc again. The only way I found is to yank out the dongle (on the back of my pc and hard to reach) then plug it back in again. In the end I decided not to use it for music. No instructions. There are literally 2 pages of instructions. It does not tell you how to solve the pairing issue I had above. I downloaded the pdf instructions from the website but no additional instructions are provided. To switch audio devices you must use a separate piece of software, not provided, or use the system tray audio button in Windows 10. The Windows 10 switcher is a godsend and allows you to easily switch between speakers and headset, but without it you have to go right back into "Sounds" and manually disable the other device. Why didn't they put this in the instructions? Why didn't they provide extra software for Windows 7 and 8 users? Why didn't they test it on real people?! I dispair, this is embarrasing.. Audio instructions are quite annoying. It says things like "pc connected" or "sound muted". I could get used to it alone, but this brings me on to another issue - it's very slow to unmute. This means in a meeting you suddenly need to talk to everyone and you can't. To unmute you have to hold the down volume for 2 seconds, then you get the audio instructions for 2 more seconds, then everyone is wondering why you aren't talking yet, then you start talking. Did they not bother to test this in a real setting? The workaround is to use the on-screen mute button which makes things a little faster. Audio quality is not great. Bluetooth is supposed to be digital audio meaning it's actually moving data around not analogue audio. This means the quality should be crystal clear and sound as good as a good pair of wired headphones. But the audio is coarse and the quality is equivalent to a good FM radio. It's not unusable but I expected a lot better for £102. Conclusion All in all I would stick with the wires and go with a Jabra UC Mono, for me the 65 is more fashion over function. Humanity still hasn't found a good way to do wireless headsets yet.

A great buy when on sale
V easy to pair with multiple devices (laptop and phone). Very very clear sound for voice. Works perfectly for zoom/teams work calls. The look with the boom is professional too! I enjoy using it to listen to podcasts too. Basically this thing is optimised for voice. Hearing and speaking. I love the button to mute and unmute as well. Keep it in your cart and when it goes on sale at just above US$100, just click BUY!!
