Where has this been all my life!
Amazing!!I recently dyed my medium brown hair which had some lighter bits at the end due to previous bleaching. I used a 'red passion' box dye on it and was disappointed because it turned out a sort of dull orangey red (see photos). So i bought this pillarbox red and put it on dry hair for about an hour and oh my god! Its exactly what i wanted! So vibrant but soft too!Id googled putting bright red dye over darker red and everyone said it wouldn't do anything but this really really did! Box reds dont ever seem to take to bleached ends very well but this stuff did. Amazing! (The pictures where it looks more orange was the before and the vibrant red is after)

Alpine Green = GORGEOUS
Edited***Stunning colour!I bleached my hair in late September, after a long think about what colour to put on my hair which was light yellow-blonde with dark auburn brown roots (6 weeks of growth while I was considering various greens and blues) I chose the Alpine Green by directions.I purchased two pots, I’m a man with really thick, shoulder length hair. But, upon applying the product, I only needed one pot to fully saturate my hair with its gel-like consistency. The pot says to wash your hair with a PH neutral shampoo before dying your hair with the product… however I used a gentle, cleansing shampoo and towelled my hair until it was damp, moisture helps spread the product in thick hair. Make sure your hair isn’t too wet though, this may cause running and your result may be patchy.Applying the dye on my hair was quite easy! If you’re careful, it doesn’t splatter, even with the extra moisture in my hair from the prior washing. It’s recommended to use a dye brush and section your hair… me being the lazy man that I am, put some gloves on and did it the old-fashioned way with my hands, sectioning my hair with my fingers. The product doesn’t smell bad, but it doesn’t smell particularly good either - it does however smell clean… if that makes sense? Anyway… 😂The dye covered my hair with only half a pot used, which is fantastic for my thick, bleached hair! So, I worked the remaining half a pot into my hair, just to be certain I had even coverage.I left the dye in my hair for 45/50 minutes, and wrapped my hair in plastic wrap, because I wanted as rich a colour deposit as possible. But, always keep in mind the guideline 20 minute advertised development time! Especially when applying to freshly bleached hair. When rinsed and dried, the colour looks AMAZING!!It’s a cool, almost metallic-looking green. Very blue based, giving an almost-iridescent shine to the colour.I still have another pot left over, for upkeep of colour, too!I’m VERY happy with the product, and ‘directions’ in general! I’ve been using their colours for 15 years and have NEVER been disappointed! They stay in my hair far better than most other brands, this includes some of the permanent hair dyes.Thank you, La Riche!!!Sam, 28, long-time customer!***one year on I have still been using this colour. Multiple haircuts and styles later, this green really is my favourite hair colour. The only thing I would like to change is to make it darker.

Conditioning and great price
I loved the colour in the tub and on my hair it did a fairly decent job of covering over an uneven base. The smell is great and Directions is really conditioning. I left the dye on for about an hour in the hope it would stick better. The initial result was fabulous - a lovely coral colour. However when I washed it, it very quickly became this orangey hue I wasn’t really after. I did recolour shortly after so cannot comment on longevity, however for the price I think it did the job and I did like the end result. Probably would look for a coral with a bit more of a pink tone if I was to do that sort of hair again.

OH MY!!!! This stuff is BRIGHT! XD
So i decided at 33 i've had enough of permenant box dye colour. Used to play around with non and semi permenant colours but they never lastet long, pigment wasnt strong enough and any pillow i had would be multicoloured!Decided to try la riche Directions as it seems less expensive than Manic Panic but reviews all over seemed good. My hair previously had brown roots and a lot of faded red/purple mids to ends. After bleaching 2 times (leaving it a week in between), with 30vol developer and rapid blue bleach powder (leaving for no longer than 20 mins as it got hot fast!) and using a conditioning hair mask, my hair was light blonde in places, but still had orangey parts and damaged on the ends! After a trim, i noticed one bit underneath was just stubborn and did not want to lighten so it stayed an orangey pink where i wanted to put the blue, but i didnt want to push the bleach anymore!Decided i would choose a mix of some deeper colours and brighter colours in case the orangey tones messed up the colours too much. I did shampoo my hair with elvive low shampoo and gently squeezed out the excess water with a towel before dying. The top half of my hair, which i seperated an inch above my ear, i did Dark Tulip at the roots going into Flamingo Pink from mids to ends. The under half of my hair i did Turquoise at the roots going into Lagoon blue. Now i have had many experiences with blue dye just turning mucky green and was always disappointed, but this is so AMAZING! The turquoise i would happily have over my whole head it is the kind of green hue that is like an emerald green with more blue in, love it. It worked really well over the more orange part of my hair too.Lagoon blue is stunning, again a deeper colour but not too dark and not too light. The Dark Tulip is a deep beautiful ruby purple that leans more to the red side and looks stunning with the pink, and oh my gosh the Flamingo Pink!!! Wow 😍 love the deeper pink, it goes so well with the rest and can be seen a mile away!So if you havent guessed i love these colours, they are thick enough in consistency that its not running off and painting your bathroom with every hand movement, but thin enough that a little goes a long way. As most people have said, and its no surprise, it does stain! A day later my hands are mostly back to normal colour but it has stayed under my nails and a little around my forhead. I always forget to try the vaseline around my hairline to prevent it.Dyed the bottom blue half of my hair first, rinsing it out with just warm water and pining it back up before I done the top pink half. After doing a gentle wash with a little Elvive Low Shampoo i found that there was no crazy amount of dye coming out even with it being the first wash.I had one 88ml pot of each colour. After doing my whole head i have 2/3rds left of each 88ml Dark Tulip and Turquoise, and 1/3rd left of the Lagoon Blue and Flamingo Pink. Plenty for touch ups!Went to bed with a towel over my pillow and slightly damp hair, woke up to no colour on my towel 😱 Speechless!Very excited to see how long this lasts using low shampoo and probably washing my hair twice a week at most. Will update this review if i can. Enjoy your colours beautifuls! ❤️
