I purchase solid bait which comes with a hole inserted and this bait fits securely onto the post in one of the two chambers of this box. The box closes securely and is locked automatically when shut. The only way that you can obtain access is by using the supplier key; one key per pack. If you wish to secure the boxes, they come pre-release with two screw holes. I don't secure mine as I prefer to move them around. I suppose the major benefit is to keep the bait enclosed and safe from accidental ingestion by a child or family pet. To be honest, in our loft there is no chance of this, however, I do like the fact that the bait is contained in one place.
