Can relate to negative reviews on quality and water imngress issues
On receipt the solar panel section was not stuck onto the body of the light but just hanging by the wires. Looking at the build quality and means of attachment (obviously meant to be glued but little overlap with body) I can see why many reviewers report water leakage issues. The same manufacturer / supplier has a range of similar lights but I, for one, will not be trying any of their products again. It just seems to be a waste of money as water ingress seems inevitable unless they imrpove design, build quality and material.

Excellent solar LED light
This was bought as a present. I bought some of these previously and they have proved their worth. Put one at the end of the drive and others round the house in strategic dark spots. They get sun in the afternoon and make a huge difference when you walk outside in the dark. No more falling over flower pots or other stuff. The lights have a low and high mode, then there are three settings, all only work at night. First setting comes on when it gets dark and stays on full until the battery runs down. Second comes on low when it gets dark, then senses movement and comes on bright. Third stays off until it senses movement (that is what I use). The only issue is if you have plants or trees or animals that could set it off. The blurb says in mode 1 the light will last 4-6 hours but I have not tried it. You have to make the setting on the back with a switch before you screw it to the wall or fence (screws and rawl plugs provided. Mine have been up for a year and are still working (third mode) and the light is surprisingly bright for such a little thing. They are brilliant and no wires or electricity needed.

It is claimed these can detect people as far away as 26 feet. I don't think so.
The light itself is bright, the item is attractive. The light seems to work well when it is on. But I have a couple of reservations.First of all, though not a fault of the light itself more a suggestion, you should be allowed to extend the time the light stays on in sensor mode. 15 seconds is not enough, and in conjunction with my major criticism of the product which is coming up, makes the item not worthwhile for me:This is advertised as possibly detecting people as far away as 26 feet. This is totally bogus in my experience. I bought my first light and set it at the recommended height and you have to be very close to it for it to trigger. I'm talking five feet, not 26. I purchased another two and it is much the same. By the time the light triggers, I have almost passed the area which I wanted lighted in front of me.That is why I bought another two, so that I could dot a line of them along a path but what happens is you walk all the way to the first one, it eventually triggers, then the next one as you are very near it, then the third and last one. By this time the first one is about to switch off and the one I am walking around turns off also, even though I am moving about beside it, dealing with the dogs. I need this to stay on until I have left this area and it is supposed to stay on if there is continued movement. I usually have to walk towards it again to get it to come on again, which is so annoying. On the walk back, the path is in total darkness until you are almost on top of each light again. I would probably need around ten of them light the path effectively. At least if the time to stay on was increased, the walk back for me would be better as I wouldn't have to trigger them all on again. I don't want them permanently on.I mainly bought this because of the impressive claim of 'up to 26 feet.'EDIT: The lights are working even less effectively now, they don't turn on unless you wave your hand back and forth right in front of them. They have been a total waste of time and money.

Bright at night, charged by the day!
Edit: have had to edit this as since I wrote this review the light has stopped working for no apparent reason. Am sending it back and will order a new one, because it is a good light, but if the next one breaks then it won't get another chance!Brought this little light to sit outside the back door to alert us as to when the cats wanted to be let in. The cats move to the back door, the light turns on, we see the light and know it's been triggered a la feline! So far it's worked perfectly. It charges fully in the day, and working as a motion sensor light it's so far never run out over the course of a night, is consistently bright, and has a very large sensor are for the size of the light. It's small and compact; we have it secured on one small nail in the fence, and even in very strong wind and rain it's shown no sign of going anywhere or giving up the ghostAll in al very happy, will soon be ordering another one to go outside the front door so I might be able to see my keyhole at night!

Definitely worth the money. This throws out a LOT ...
Definitely worth the money. This throws out a LOT of light, and the sensor picks up movement from a very wide angle, making it suitable to placement next to steps/stairs. I'd prefer the mode switch be mounted on the bottom instead of the back (ie. you have to remove the light to change the mode, but no big deal). Will probably buy a few more in the future.Edit: changing my review to two stars. I bought more after my original review, and two of the lights keep turning on and off after you walk past it, and carries on doing this for about half an hour. It works fine in the "always on low power" mode, so they're staying in that mode, although the battery doesn't last that long in that mode.
