I got this to replace an older cellphone vent mount with plastic arms that ended up breaking. We've been using this for a couple weeks now and it's a really good vent mount if your smartphone doesn't have a thick case. It seems to be designed to specifically fit thin smartphones. My wife tried using it with her Samsung Galaxy S7 which was inside a completely enclosed waterproof case and it just wouldn't fit right. The side arms which are supposed to go in front of the phone a little to make sure it won't fall just stopped as soon as they touched the case. There wasn't enough space in the curve of the arm to fit.Then I put it in my car to use with my phone. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 with a case that only covers the back and sticks out just a tiny bit in front so that if I set it face down on a surface the screen won't touch that surface. This vent mount held my phone much better but one of the arms still wouldn't close all the way. I tried to force it just a little which did make it feel more secure but then it was difficult to pull the arms apart when it was time to remove the phone. It still worked in that held my phone in place, but who knows what would happen if I had to stop suddenly.Only a couple days later the case on my wife's phone stopped working. The part that covers the screen started showing spots, like in those bad car window tint jobs you occasionally see, and her phone started getting hot inside so she decided to ditch her case. I thus put the mount back in her car and now she really likes it. She can set her phone in the mount with one hand and the weight of the phone pulls the arms inward to secure the phone. It can also be swiveled so either the driver or passenger can look at it.There is a separation in the part at the bottom that seats the phone which allows room for the USB cable to be plugged in, and this is really nice but it can be difficult to get the cord plugged in. The other option is to plug it in first and then sit the phone in the cradle, but then the cord gets caught on the arms and the bottom hook so you end up having to use your other hand to keep the cord out of the way.Two accessories are included, a dual port USB car charger and a braided 2-in-1 micro-USB/lightning cable. We didn't need the car charger but the braided micro-USB cable definitely came in handy as the cable my wife had in her car was literally falling apart. We both have phones that use micro-USB connections but it's nice to know that her friends will be able to use the lighting connector on it to charger their iPhones should they have the need.We like the metal build which feels a lot more sturdy than our old mount, and we like how we can seat the phone with one hand where the arms will automatically secure it, but we think it would be helpful if the depth of the arms could be adjusted so it could fit phones with cases.

This cell phone holder does a good job of keeping your cell phone secure and visible while driving once the phone is properly inserted. As I suspect with all of the devices in this self adjusting category, they require a little help in bringing about the complete closure of the arms to meet the phone. It is not quite as automatic as one might think. This, however, is a minor issue and easily dealt with by applying a little downward pressure when placing the phone in this holder. I must say not to expect the charger to save you money by making the purchase of another car adapter unnecessary. It has a (.1 A) capability which will likely take a lot longer to charge a phone than a quality (2.4 A). The extra cord is decent offering two connecters which can be handy.

A very nice phone cradle kit with powering accessories. The weight of the phone pulls the side arms in, securing the phone nicely. A naked S7 phone fit great. The size of the cradle is about half the S7. After I cased my S7, it was too thick to work in the gravity clamp properly. I had to bend the cradle arms forward & around the case to mount it. Not a deal breaker though. I found it worked fine mounting the phone upside down in the cradle. The vent clamp worked fantastic, too. Plenty of clamping pressure on the vent blade. You'll have to experiment with the cradle pivot & the vent blade positions to get a solid mount. I feel for the money this kit is a good value. The charging plug has two outlets to charge the phone & a back up battery. Love it. I recommend it!

Not the best product for sure. The side bars don’t hold the phone snugly at all. You also cannot turn your phone sideways versus versus having it up and down because of the arms being so loose and there is no way to tighten them. The swivel sort of just flops around as you drive as well so it’s not sturdy in any way shape or form. I would not recommend. Ended up having to buy another product. (For frame of reference, I have an iPhone 7plus)

This was made well and might work for some phones but my Galaxy S8+ slipped right out of it even though description says it fits the phone. I also discovered that the way the bottom of this is made, I could not charge my phone while in the holder. The space at the bottom of my phone case has to be open in order to charge and this does not allow for that. I had to return it.

Doesn't work well if you have a thin case on your phone, don't even try it with a thicker case. Scratched case trying to position it in the holder, then difficult to get out. I think a magnetic holder would work better if you are using a case on your phone.....

Pretty good, works as advertized. It tends to pull you vent down and rest at a suboptimal angle. Tends to block the vent. But I also did not want a suction cup model in my car. Good enough.

Unless you have a really light phone or your air vent is extremely sturdy clip will slide right off dropping g ur phone to the floor. Suggest plugging in your car charger to make picking up phone easier.
