**Q: I need it for indoor CCTV. Is it working when is plugged in for charging?**
A: If you want to use indoors suggest you buy one of the indoor range. As I understand it the batteries have to be removed for charging.

**Q: What is the range between a H200 hub and a C420 camera? (Please don't give an answer based on an separate router).**
A: I don't know the exact range, but one of mine is about 35 meters from the hub. The app shows it as having "Great" signal strength.

**Q: Can you watch recordings continuously**
A: Yes, you can record continuosly. No, you DON'T need to subscribe.
By default there is a schedule set that has motion detection recording only set up.

If you go into the recording schedule setup page you can click edit then the blue record button and then drag around all the times and days that you want enabling.

**Q: Where can I buy more cameras of this type without the added hub as I need 4 cameras?**
A: These makes of camera, TP Link TAPO 2K QHD, do not use or need a hub. They connect wirelessly to your router,  and then all (as many as you want) can be viewed via the TP Link TAPO app on your phone, in outstanding quality. By plugging a micro sd card into the side of the camera (say around 32gb or 64gb) you can set each camera to record 24 hours a day if need be, and again "wind back to a certain time" via the TP Link Tapo App.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great CCTV system at a good price; early set-up issues are fixable

I've had 7 of these these cameras installed for just over two months using the Tapo H500 hub, and overall they are very good. I found both the Hub, cameras and solar panels easy to install, and the app is clear and also easy to set up and use. That said, I ran into some issues early on, which I'll detail later, but they were all "fixable".Picture and sound quality is very good, even in dull daylight. I use the infrared setting at night to save battery life, and while the picture quality is good enough to see what is happening and to identify what people are doing / wearing (roughly) you can't make out faces or similar detail levels.The smart detection isn't all that good - I have had "person detected" alerts when squirrels are running up a tree, but if you set the detection area carefully and set detection mode to "person" and "pet" only, and turn off "all motion" alerts I find you don't get that many false alerts. The cameras regard foxes as pets, but that is understandable.Three of the cameras are in "high traffic" areas and four around the sides and back of the house (low traffic) and so far the cameras have used about 70GB of the 970GB available on the 1TB SSC hard drive I put in the hub. At this rate the drive will take about a year to fill up.Once I got a couple of wrinkles sorted, battery life is excellent. Six of the cameras are still showing 100% battery after two months despite the dull, wet winter we have had. One of the cameras is located at the edge of the Wi-Fi / Tapo hub network range and this seems to cause it to drain the battery much more, particularly when it is cold. It is currently on 62% after two months, but it dropped from c90% to c70% in less than a week when we had the very cold week in early January. It has since stabilised, so even this camera battery should last about 6 months, and hopefully a sunny spring will keep it going longer (although another cold snap will probably cause another big drain).Three of the cameras/panels are located where trees obscure the sun, so I bought the larger A200 solar panels to use there. I'm not sure I needed to bother as all three are still at 100% battery after over two months.The one issue I have run into is that it can take one or two camera "resets" to get them to work properly. In three cases when I set the camera up and placed it well within Wi-Fi and/or Hub range the camera either (i) kept dropping off the network and saying it was out of range, or (ii) randomly started to chew through battery for no reason. I have found that if you dismount the camera, make sure you are close to your router, then "hard" reset the camera using the little reset button and set it up from scratch again, it then usually works perfectly. One camera took two "hard resets" to get this result, but I got there in the end. Why the cameras sometime do this I don't know, but if you run into either of these problems (and looking at the reviews they seem fairly common), I do recommend resetting the camera and starting again, it usually sorts the problem.Overall I now have a great home CCTV system that works as advertised with battery life better than I expected, so I'm very happy - it just takes a little effort to get there !

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really pleased I chose this pair of cameras

Having read and watched a bunch of reviews of this and many other cameras, I settled on the Tapo 2K wireless camera pair + hub. The main reasons being ease of installation, product reliability, image quality and especially that a subscription is not required.I knew that a wireless installation would be more straightforward than having to drill and run wiring, but I was not expecting the fantastic job the company have done to hold your hand during the installation process.There is a brief and clear initial setup guide, which includes a QR code for you to continue the installation via your phone. I really liked this. Each step was clearly presented, one at a time. I was very pleased when you'd be told something along the lines of "when you plug this in, the indicator will blink red for a few seconds and then go green". And what was forecast would be correct each time, so I'd know the installation was proceeding correctly.Before long I'd got the cameras and hub installed, all without a hitch, even though this was my first time installing CCTV.The app is great and works a treat. So many ways you can control and fine tune the system to suit your needs. Until I got used to it though sometimes I would struggle to find the right menu path to reach the setting I wanted to tweak. But it didn't take long to become familiar with the options important to me.I didn't want to use the offered subscription service - why keeping paying for something you've bought? So I installed a 256GB microSD into the hub. This turned out to be much larger capacity than I really needed. It's taking forever to fill it up, even connected to 3 cameras (I ended up buying the same package again to extend my CCTV coverage). And if it does fill up then the system can continue recording by discarding the oldest if you haven't deleted some old stuff yourself first. So 128GB would have been fine.Having bought this package twice, I have 3 cameras connected to 1 hub and the 4th camera connected to the 2nd hub. I've split them this way because their wireless signal will go through 2 or 3 sets of brick wall and our 4th camera's signal couldn't reach the first hub. So I connected the 2nd hub to our WiFi closer to where the 4th camera is mounted.The whole system performs very well. The image quality is fine and the cameras start recording correctly under the criteria that I selected - I turned off pet, vehicle and movement alerts and chose human detection alerts. The system uses AI to distinguish them. I chose movement detection to be off because of very long grass waving in the wind causing false alarms.We have a glass table on the patio. In the summer this would sometimes set off the camera overlooking it. This was because it would emanate heat from the sun which would trigger the camera to look for a human - and then sometimes cloud reflections on it would look like a human! So I set the area scanned by the camera to exclude the table top - it's very handy being able to precisely specify which parts of the view seen by a camera should be monitored and which should not.The camera at the front door gets the most triggering, mostly from deliveries. Accordingly its battery lasts a little over 3 months before needing recharging. The camera that is triggered the least still has 87% charge after 3 months.The cameras are solidly well made and feel reassuringly hefty and robust in the hand. Overall I'm entirely pleased with the product, its ease of installation and use, its performance and its price.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great performance Cameras

Bought these cameras as replacements for some very old 'wired' security cameras for my home. In the first twin camera pack that was delivered, after successfully setting up the first camera I struggled to get the second to pair with the Hub. After some Live Chat with Tapo Support it was established that the second camera was faulty. I returned the whole Twin Camera pack to Amazon for Refund and they shipped a replacement the same day. It was delivered the day after. Brilliant customer service !!!The next camera pack was set up extremely quickly with no problems. I have to say that Tapo have got the user friendly set up procedure perfect. I have one camera at the front outside of the house and the second at the rear outside. The cameras are completely wireless and very easy to mount. I have had no problem with signal strength and camera connections. The quality of the colour video is extremely good. There are plenty of options for setting alarms and motion detection, including screening for people, pets or vehicles using the inbuilt AI algorithms. I have been playing with the cameras and settings a lot but the batteries seem to be holding up very well and after approximately 6 days they are still at 96%.Notifications are sent promptly to my email address. Overall, these cameras are superb and very affordable.The only downsides at the moment are: you cannot buy spare batteries for the cameras although I am advised by Tapo that these will be available for sale very shortly. Also, you cannot buy a separate individual camera. You can only buy them in the Twin Pack at the moment. Again, I am led to believe that you will be able to buy individual cameras soon. I am so pleased with the cameras that I am considering buying a second twin pack to locate in 'blind spots' around my house.31/03/2023: Bought a second twin pack and these worked perfectly out of the box. They were set up in no time with one camera connected to my existing H200 Hub and the second camera connected to the new H200 Hub. Battery life is fantastic. Obviously to get the best battery life I have played with all the settings to optimise the performance for my needs versus battery life. I have always been sceptical about the battery life of such cameras but I have to say that these are brilliant. I have to say that I have found the video recording to the MicroSD cards that I have installed into the H200 Hubs is more than adequate making it unnecessary to subscribe to the Tapo Cloud recording option. As a result of my experience so far I have upgraded my Review to 5 Stars,
