This machine is an absolutely great tool for making stockinette tubes quickly and easily! I had mixed feelings about whether or not to purchase this thing based on negative reviews I had been reading. I have to say that I am extremely impressed, and it has been worth every dollar spent. They even throw in extra needles in case any break, although I can't even think how you would break one, they're that sturdy. The circumference of a finished beanie in Caron - Simply Soft (doubled for warmth) is big enough to fit a child to medium-sized adult head with a little wiggle room. My boyfriend has a large noggin and he can squeeze into one of the hats, but it isn't very comfortable. A finished tube, laid flat and unstretched, is close to six to eight inches wide, depending on the yarn used. The most important advice I can give you is to choose the RIGHT YARN for the machine. I have used a wide variety of weights and fibers and here is what I think are the best choices: 1. Worsted Weight - Caron Simply Soft. I can't say enough about how great the Addi Express works with this yarn. I've made scarves, hats, and blanket panels and they turn out great. Not a dropped or twisted stitch to be seen with more than 800 rows on the longest piece I've knit. I cast on and just crank the handle, most of the time I just watch TV and mindlessly knit, that's how dependable the combination is! 2. Worsted Weight - Lion Bran Vanna's Choice. Very occasionally the machine doesn't quite catch a full stitch and splits the yarn on a needle, but it has never been a huge problem as long as I keep an eye out and have a crochet hook handy. 3. Worsted Weight - SMOOTH wool yarns. If your yarn is boucle, plied loosely, or splits easily, you will not get a good fabric out of this machine. Wool blends have worked amazing for me, but I have yet to try any of my higher-end wools on it for fear of ruining them. I would stick to acrylics until you're comfortable with how the machine works. Bulky yarn will not work well at all, you'll end up with a stiff chunky fabric that is a pain to keep on the needles. I haven't experimented with smaller weight yarns either, but your fabric will obviously turn out lacier than worsted. I have no idea why, but Red Heart Super Saver absolutely kills this machine. I've tried many combinations, and I am constantly dropping stitches when using this brand, and the machine makes a terrible clicking noise. It's baby melter yarn, so I can't say I'm disappointed, I just would have loved to mindlessly crank out tubes of the stuff for charity scarves since I have a lot of it sitting around. All-in-all, I'm pleased with this purchase, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a solid starter machine with a relatively low cost compared to professional machines of the same size.

Very satisfied with this Addi after experiencing a big disappointment with another brand. Works well with many different brands and types of yarn. I had bought the other brand's 48 needle for a Christmas gift for a disabled friend that turned out to be big disappointment. The cheaper brand machine dropped stitches and very few yarns would work. It no longer was functional after making 6 hats. This Addi is everything the other brand fails at. Knitting machines should be fun and not frustrating and Addi comes through. Good quality and smooth operation. There is no binding and popping like I experienced on the other brand. Well over 20 hats and still going strong. The only negative I would say is the tensioner gets in the say when casting on and the tensioner does not always keep equal tension. I plan on ordering an aftermarket tensioner for the Addi. Highly recommend you spend the extra money for the Addi. You won't be disappointed.

I'm still in a learning curve, but overall I really like it. I first got the 48 needle Sentro and really had problems getting cast on and missing stitches ect. After getting the 46 needle Aldi, I had an easier time with casting on. I do not regret the Sentro purchase, I will be using again and thinking about purchasing the size smaller for use in certain projects. Knitting machines overall have a learning curve, but I have arthritic fingers and regular knitting just hurts. This is a reasonable alternative for a pastime I enjoy in my retirement. The Aldi overall is the better quieter machine as far as quality but I can't really knock the Sentro. Starting out I'd say buy the Aldi. But Sentro is great as a second cheaper machine.

As a stay at home wife, I try to find ways to fill my free time plus I want to do something to give back to the community. I plan to make hats for the homeless shelters this winter. I was hesitant for a long time because it’s plastic. But it turns out that it’s very well made and I’m not afraid of breaking it every time I turn the handle. I urge everyone to watch YouTube videos before using. It will save you a lot of frustration. Im still trying to make a flat panel so I can make blankets but so far the trick to that has eluded me. For that reason alone I had to withhold a star. It’s easy to put together (all you have to foods screw the legs on.) and it gives you brackets to put around the legs to attach it to a table to keep it steady while you’re turning the crank. I do wish there was a better way to fasten this to the table. It works well if the cut of your table is flat edges, straight up 90° angle. Like a work table, Nothing decorative. But most kitchen tables have a beveled or routed edge and it slips off this edge easily. I am glad I bought it. I would buy it again. I can get two hats out of one skein of yarn. Def worth the price tag.

Absolutely LOVE this machine. Worth the price, definitely a learning curve but so worth it. The whole family is enjoying making products with it. It is a little noisy, and you have to be mindful to go too fast or you'll drop a stitch. Speed is important, but not dripping a switch will save you a headache. Duribility is wonderful but be mindful of your yarn grade, can handle a 4 but I would stick to 3 as it glides like butter! Plan to purchase a smaller one as well!

I was beyond disappointed in this machine. My first attempt appeared to be trouble free. I knitted half a skein (about 100 yards) of Plymouth Encore Colorspun 75% Acrylic 25% Wool. I was thrilled. It was fast and made a great tube. That was the end of my thrill. I attached some good old 4ply worsted 100% Wool (same weight ) from Red Heart and the problems began. Bad part is I did not see it until I was finished knitting the other 100 yards. When I took my piece off the machine there were so many dropped stitches all over the fabric my whole hat was ruined. My objective was patterned yarn on one side of the hat and the solid on the inside making the hat reversible. I am a long time knitter so my yarn was not a loss I simply unraveled it as I knit the hat by hand. I purchased the machine primarily to knit tubes of wool for dying sock blanks. I suppose I could do it with the dropped stitches anyway but since these blanks would be for sale I just could not bring myself to sell dyed blanks that were not perfectly knitted. The machine itself is totally plastic as far as I could see. It is noisy to run and sounds like an old time rickety lawnmower. I could tolerate that if it produced good fabric. Alas It did not. It only does stockinette so there is virtually no pattern to your project. I do not fault the machine for that because I knew that going in. The stitches dropped were too numerous and so spread out on the fabric ... the only remedy was rip it out and start over. I had no counter issues like others had. Nor did I have any yarn jams. That being said I was not going very fast because I was interested to see if the stitches were being dropped. Even at that I did not catch it until it had already happened too many times to correct. I had already read about the static and researched for product to remedy that situation. In the end some of that product is corrosive to plastic and I did not want to do that in case I had to return the machine. I was in this machine twice ... first time for the patterned yarn and the second for the white wool ... when I removed the hat and found all of the dropped stitches on the solid white wool section I decided the machine was going back. I got my return authorization (the company gave me no problem and was speedy). Then I found it was going to cost me $35 to return. My decision them because did I want to take a loss on or was I willing to deal with dropped stitches. Finally I decided the aggravation of the dropped stitches was not worth my time or the $35 to see if there was a possible remedy for the problem encountered. It ended up my time was worth more than the $35 loss. So back it went. I have a big bulky flat bet knitting machine but thought this would be a nice machine to make the tubular sock blanks for dying. I was disappointed it did not work for me.

I am new to looming. I ordered the Addi Express King and addi Express Kingsize with 46 needles Pattern Book 892 pattern book. I was a little leery about ordering it not only because of the price but I didn't want to end up with another loom that I can only make scarfs and hats on! The Addi is super easy to use and it comes with a video that shows how to cast on and off and how to operate your Addi. It is very easy to learn how to use and I did "knit a 2 color" hat in less than 1/2. It comes fully assembled with the exception of the legs that you simply screw in by hand like wise with the claps that attach the Addi Express Kingsize to your working surface. The pattern book is much simpler to read than most of the pattern books I ordered (the books I have ordered with my regular looms seem to be written in some code I can't decipher! ) I get really frustrated because I do not under stand regular pattern book and all of it's abbreviations. This pattern book is not our typical, scarf and hat book, it goes step by step (You can actually understand what they want you do do) into how to make baby onesies, blankets, shawls, ponchos, sweater for both adult male and female and children scarfs, blankets, wrap around jackets. The book comes with both written instructions in English, beautiful clear color photographs of what your project is suppose to look like, plus a complete pattern illustration where they break spell it out how long each piece is suppose to be and how to put it together. As a beginner this is vital. You can really make professional looking pieces in a short while. Excellent customer Service. The customer support is phenomenal, friendly and extremely helpful. I contacted them with questions and they were extremely professional and super quick to respond. They even sent out an email letting me know where my order was every step of the way. That made me feel a lot better because it was coming Germany and I had no idea how all of this would of turned out. It turned out wonderful and I am very happy and strongly recommend this item, the book and the seller. This would make a very unique and thoughtful gift for anyone wanting to learn how to loom or has health issues that limit using there hands.

The Addi Kingsize is brilliant. It’s easy to use and there’s plenty of videos online to learn the basics. My 10 year old can make a beanie from scratch with no help needed. I also bought the accompanying Addi book ‘Winding instead of Knitting’ to learn some new patterns but I can’t make sense of the instructions (I’m not experienced at regular knitting/ crochet). I’ll stick to online tutorials.

Ottima macchina per fare berretti o sciarpe o fascie per orecchie in lana. Funziona benissimo, non perde i punti, è abbastanza silenziosa. 46 aghi.
