Vincent Can't Sleep: Van Gogh Paints the Night Sky

Interesting biography about the post impressionist artist Vincent Van Gogh. It’s a creative angle summarizing Van Gogh's amazing ability to paint nighttime scenes. The author made it clear to children that Van Gogh used vivid brushstrokes and color. I highly recommend this book for children interested in art history or gaining insight on a style of painting.

This may be the best thing I’ve ever bought. If you know his story, the last page will bring a tear to your eye. They keep his story as true as possible while still being child friendly and the illustrations are INCREDIBLE. I will be keeping this book forever.

I use this book for my preschool classroom when we do an art study on Van Goghs “Starry Night”. The illustrations are beautiful and the book is easy to paraphrase for the little ones. Great buy!

Grandson aged 6 researching Van Gogh for school homework. In addition they are studying 'Light' and therefore the painting 'A Starry Night' upon which this book is based has been so helpful. Child has been copying Van Gogh paintings too.

The pictures are beautiful and a great way to introduce art to a child from a young age! Great gift for an art lovers child!The story is not as interesting as Monet. But I don't think a kid will complain.
