Yap Cap fits SHORT 12oz plastic soda bottles PERFECTLY!!!
My dog absolutely LOVES it! Backstory: We had gotten a different water bottle dog toy on Amazon (Multipet Loofa- wouldn't recommend) with an odd sized water bottle and squeaky cap inside, which my dog chewed up pretty quickly. Before I found the Yap Cap, I was using duct tape and super glue to try and keep our generic cap going (See photo...) but this one is much sturdier and will probably last a lot longer! I use the SHORT plastic soda bottles which are 12 Fluid ounces. These are the only bottles I could ever get either cap to fit on. The new Yap Cap fits on these bottles like a dream, a perfect fit! Hours later, and my dog is still compulsively squeaking it, driving us all crazy! He's a mini Daushund and usually rips toys up, but judging by the thickness of this cap, I'm hoping it will last longer than the other one! We put the squeaky bottle in this cute whale bottle toy (see picture) that we've had for months and have been very happy with - its refillable and has strong Velcro at the bottom so he's not able to pull the bottle out. (From Amazon: ZippyPaws Deluxe Water Bottle Crusherz - also comes in a shark, lobster, dolphin etc.)

No!
thought it would be pretty simple-- put a small bottle in this little 'canvas' (or whatever fabric) bag, and put the matching top on it. Instant dog chew/squeak toy!I bought a 'small' bottle water- too big. (16 oz)My friend found another 'short' small bottle-- too big. (10 oz)Got another smaller shorter bottle. Forced it in.Squeaker doesn't work.My advice, dont buy!Or, just use the squeaker cap on an empty water bottle wrapped in some kind of fabric.

Good Idea, but.......
I have two German Shepherds who love anything that squeaks, so I immediately thought the Yap Cap was a genius idea. Well, it IS a good idea, just not nearly sturdy enough for real life dog use. My younger GSD (18 months old) enjoyed squeaking the bottle for a few minutes and then spent the rest of the time chewing the Yap Cap off of the bottle. After chewing the Yap Cap into a useless pink blob, she decided that the accompanying pink bottle bag was fun to throw around and tease her big brother with. She is an innovative girl.Unless the Yap Cap is beefed up to withstand dog teeth, I can't see spending the money on this product again.

paint flakes off
this cover is too small for any common plastic bottles. Finally forced the smallest Gatorade bottle in by flattening it. When my dog played with it she demolished the squeaker it about two chews. Then the paint covering on the fabric started flaking off immediately. After about 2 minutes of play, I threw it away.

Know your dog.
It would depend on the dog. It was chewed all to pieces in about 30 minutes. The dog it was for usually takes about 5 minutes to destroy a toy. On the other hand I know another dog who is still carrying it around after months. Hence it depends on what dog has it.

Well, my Jack Russel Terrier made short shrift of the cloth material in this toy but the blue squeaky top can be easily reapplied to another water bottle with a more durable outer covering which I made out of plastic like cloth. This toy is going to be a real keeper!
