Leaks and Failed After 3 Months
Took this on about 40 dives over three months before I noticed it is leaking. Performed a check on the functionality. It will not turn on and so, obviously does not function. It says "put a battery and forget about it for 5 years". I want to be very clear about this... the ONLY reason you will ever use this is in an absolute emergency, where your life could be on the line. I have had this 3 months and it has already failed, having never been used. Do YOU want a safety net that is prone to failure? It was a false sense of security for me.I can only imagine the heart break, if I were ever left by a charter boat or swept away by a current, I pulled this out, and realized it didn't function...

Replacement for old model with radio.
I had the old model with radio. It needed a repair and rather than repairing I bought this one. I like that it is much smaller and the battery doesn't need to be recharged. It took a bit of reading the manual to understand the working of it but hey. We are all getting a bit lazy and the manual was short. Hope I never have to use it but I travel and dive in places where there are currents so it is better to be safe.

I haven't had to use it in an emergency yet ...
I haven't had to use it in an emergency yet so hard to give it a strong rating and determine if the device really works well or not. But I have spoken to a dive boat operator in Sydney (not sure if it was this exact device) and he has seen it used once and it worked. Apparently the coast guard turned up. But it looks and operates just how its advertised though.

Nice.
Got this a week earlier than stated from the seller. Quality seems good, made in Canada. One of those pieces of equipment that you hope you never need, but in case you do, it's a real nice addition.
