Plugs in directly to the external antenna RCA style plug on the WR-400 and instantly improved reception for me, based on where I have it placed in my home. Prior to using this antenna, I struggled to receive the local weather channel, and after, the reception is way better with minimal static (still some static but the broadcasts are pretty clear and it may be my radio). The base is small on the antenna, but it is magnetic so will stick to metal surfaces with no additional mounting. I'm pleased with the performance of this antenna and think it is worth the investment if you have marginal indoor weather channel reception.

Improved my weather radio reception
