The original housing is made my Meikon, however Camdive/Kitdive has stepped up and actually started making additional ports for the housing in addition to testing them harder than the manufacturer, and they are brilliant.The first is a dome port, and it allows in an amazing amount of light and for you to use the 16-35 wide angle lens, in addition to all the other lenses that fit the stock port. Check out the wreck dive shots.Their newest port is the macro port. It works with the 90mm and the 50mm Sony Macro lenses. I recently tested it out and it works flawlessly. The one thing I did learn though, is that the port is a little long, and for proper lighting, you need to have arm mounted strobe(s). The top mount works great with the stock and dome ports, but the macro tube is twice as long and blocks a decent amount of light. Not a negative, just something to be aware of when using it. Shots 3-5 were taken with it.Considering that even with both ports and a strobe, you are still saving over $1k compared to other housings/ports, the limits of using Camdive's gear are well worth it.The correct cable type is the SEA & SEA SYNC - STROBE CORD 5-PIN NIKONOS YS SERIES CORD/N P/N SS-17100 ( 191860467435 ). Don't follow any guidance that says the Ikelite is the correct one. I use it with a INON Z240, makes the whole very compact and easy to handle. Even in current I get amazing shots, as you can see below.On another note, I have seen people mention repeatedly to make sure you apply a layer of grease to the O ring, do not listen to them. The silicon grease is to make sure the o-ring is free of debris. The correct way to use it is to put a little bit on your fingers and work the o-ring around making sure there are no clumps or debris on the o-ring. The grease is not a sealant. If you are lathering up the o-ring with a bunch of grease, you will actually cause the case to leak.I have taken this underwater on multiple dives all around the world. It has some limitations, but if you prep for them, none are show stoppers. People are always amazed at the quality of my photos, and that my camera rig doesn't require its own boat.Keep these points in mind and life will be good:1. You cannot change the mode once it is in the case. The A7R II has a dial lock which can't be depressed once inside.2. You cannot adjust aperture using the front dial, however you can remap the function to the rear menu wheel.3. Unlike the A7R series 1 case, this case does not have a knob to adjust zoom. The focal length you put it in the case at is the length for the dive.

Couple things you need to know before you buy this case:1. The On/Off switch on the case is not dummy proof so you have to double check if the linkage is secured before taking it to diving. I had a time where the switch linkage was not perfectly aligned with the camera so it doesn't work.2. No zoom. (A big minus)3. No front dial so you if you are in AF and need to change aperture, you have to change the assignment in camera.4. No mode change as mentioned in the previous post5. Exposure compensation is actually in the reverse order than it shownIf you can tolerate all these cons, this is actually a very decent diving case, with tray installed it has perfectly buoyancy that won't drag or float you. The case has a good seal that tested up to 70 feet with no problem at all. I put about 10 dives on this case and it provides good protection and produces great images with A7 II.Be sure to check any salt or sand on the O-ring before securing the case. I usually rotate and treat the retired O-ring with silicone lubricant every 6 dives and it works fine with all my previous and current gears.

Exactly what I needed for my trip to Iceland. I used this at the blue lagoon for 4 hours and ZERO water penetrated the camera case. I trust this product 100%.

I have just received this item and let me tell you this the build quality is exceptional and it looks and feels better than other more expensive ports I have used in the past. I will put an in-depth review of the case & port in a few weeks time after my trip to Greece! But I have already tested it out in a filled up bath and I have had no leaks!

This thing is awesome, granted I have only had the chance to use it once so far but its pretty great for the price. It can be a little tricky to get the power on/off switch to work properly but if you take the time to make sure it sits right it works fine. I use it with my A7Rii, i tested it with my zeiss 35mm 2.8 and it works with some vignetting. The one time i actually took it out i used the 24-70mm, which doesnt seem to let me use ND's which is a bit of a bummer. Build quality is great.

Unfortunately the alarm works as described. Just double check nothing is sticking out of your gasket.A great product. The user needs practice.

Great housing! Haven't had any problems. Same quality as the more expensive housings I've tried, just at a better price.
