I play in a lot of situations where I need to get the just the right dynamics and playing feel for the venue and and music style. These are less bright than rods and have a little less rebound. You can play with a little more force and still get low volume. They still have a small diameter unlike rods if that’s a factor for you. I personally love playing with rods so take what I’m saying here with that caveat. Their marketing is super confusing and the e-drum version has the same shaft and loop tip as the other models but crucially they are lighter overall and the weight difference comes entirely from the grip so the stick balance point is further up the stick. So think in terms of taper length on a normal stick. This will play into double stroke performance. The heavier normal version of the silent sticks are a little unbalanced but I like the overall weight. The e-drum stick weighs 28g and the normal stick is 38g.
