This is a 'must have' volume for those who enjoy the pin-up, everything about this hardcover edition exudes quality, from the beautiful slip cover, to the text and most emphatically, the stunning images within.This is far more than just another well constructed and presented volume of the subject, it is a refreshing presentation of the style of pin-up at the time, but with the uniquely English style and perspective clearly evident.It is arguably head and shoulders above most similar hardcover volumes of the subject.Certainly a very necessary addition to the most discerning collector of the pin-up genre!.

This is a book of really good art. Unlike the shy and embarrassed girl next door found in most Pin Ups, these models are confident and deliberate. You can see many of the original pencil strokes under the watercolor or pastel, making it possible to learn his technique.

David Wright is best known, for those who do know of him, for his CAROL DAY newspaper strip. A beautifully rendered daily from decades ago. I, for one, was unaware of his pin-up past and this is a long overdue look at the part of his careers.Lavishly illustrated, mostly in color with beautiful reproductions of his work. The vast majority are full pages and there are also samples of his preliminaries.The printing quality is excellent, the paper stock and binding are as well. Well worth the price.

This book is a welcome addition to the library of anyone who appreciates or collects pin-up style art. This volume offers a look at the art style as achieved by British artists. The fan accustomed to the "American style" pin-up illustration has a unique lesson and view of the similarities and differences between the two similar, yet different styles. Anyone interested in this art/illustration genre is in for a surprising treat! My copy arrived in beautiful condition and in timely manner from Amazon. Highly recommended.

This is not your cookie cuter Miss American pie baby cheeks pin up. This is very elegant and very British. It has aspects of impressionism as well as hyper realism. I'm working on an art/poetry book right now and this book has been very inspiring for me. I'm so happy this was on my recommended list!

Awesome book with big, lovely images.

Another book for my library on a very interesting subject a must have.

I have been a collector of David Wright prints and originals for 30 years so I was really looking forward to this book. It shows a large proportion of his David Wrights "lovelies' and other unseen work (which was of the most interest to me). My only criticism would be that Terry Parker didn't speak to any of the main collectors of his work as there are a number of prints that are not shown here and the collectors could have filled the gaps - but thats just being picky! If you love WWII art or any of the American artists like Vargas and Elvgren, then you will love this. A beautiful coffee table book.

if you like the art of David Wright then you will like this a good biographical piece but lacks to much info on the art works. Could have used a better paper.....

Ich habe schon mehrfach reingeschaut. Das Buch ist toll gemacht, viel Farbaufnahmen überzeugen und es macht Spaß, darin zu blättern. Wer sich als Künstler oder auch privat für Pin-Ups interessiert, sollte dieses Werk unbedingt haben.

I collect pin-up books, this is fantastic for quality reproduction, paper solid and brilliant, great layout and David Wright is a king and I consider him bigger than Elvgreen. His brushwork remember me Manet and Velasquez.
