Webasto EV Charger: 25' cable, 32A, 7.7kW

Works great, well built, rated for outdoor use. Need a drill to create wiring hole in plastic base - no normal "knock out" hole. No neutral wire needed - use 8/2 AWG with ground & 40A breaker. Relatively ugly & conspicuous to install on front of house. Side view sticks out & still conspicuous but at least not green.Padlock hole in the latch lever to prevent power theft, I didn't want to mess with that, so I installed inside front of garage with cord coming out a hole w/flap (2-gang weatherproof electrical box cover) for driveway charging. The Start/Stop buttons aren't needed, you can just connect/disconnect from the car. Too bad pressing the Stop button doesn't require the Start button to be pressed for the next charge to prevent power theft when unit is indoors, so I installed 60A disconnect switch (e.g. for HVAC) to power off instead. Will resume charging after power outage. Recommended by Chevrolet.

I bought a new Nissan Leaf all electric vehicle. The local electric company offered $300 to assist in installing an off-peak meter to charge the car at reduced rates. I had a 220 outlet in the garage, but the power company wanted a recharging station so I wouldn't be running the house on off-peak power, I guess. I debated over a 20 or 25 foot cord, but the unit I got was used and had the 25 foot cord. I was able to install the unit myself and wire it and the meter plug, so the cost was not that much over the $300. The unit is hooked up now and works fine, as expected.

This works as well as the our earlier fancy EV charger and there is not as much to go wrong!

Everything installed and worked well. Charges Chevy Volt with no issues.

Product works as advertised. My 2014 Leaf now charges in less than 3 hours. No problems with install.

For our Chevrolet Bolt it charges very quickly. Plug in when you get home and you have a full charge in the morning.
