really is waterproof
I have found that pencil is best so far... pens smudging varies. When using a gel pen it does adventually dry but will smear until dry.

Nice notebooks and I *love* the dot pattern. The pages are a little slick for pencil so find a waterproof pen if you're doing shower thinking or whatnot.

Fountain Pen Users Beware
I got these little notebooks to use with my fountain pens and the paper is so absorbent it will not absorb all of the ink. Good news: no bleed through on the back of pages. Bad news: all of the smudges ever.
