Bore Sighter for 223/5.56
Bought this to do a rough sighting on an AR. The casing is perfect size. The light is fairly strong. The light goes on as soon as the batteries are in the case and back is on, so one must be ready to sight in quickly. The batteries are difficult to get out because of tight clearances. The price is right and have only tested the light across the inside of our home. I found that hearing aid batteries are good replacements. The sighter comes with four batteries but only three fit in the case. The instructions on the back of the package was for a bore sight for a bow and arrow set up; sort of confused me, but I got the idea with no problem.

Was pretty funny to read
You have to remove the batteries to turn it off. I don't know why they just didn't recess an on/off switch inside of the case. It works well for what it does, except the last battery was extremely difficult to get out. Also, for some reason my laser came with instructions for zeroing a CROSSBOW? Was pretty funny to read, considering I bought the .223/5.56mm

This bore sight didn't have any type of coating or insulation sleeve to keep the batteries from shorting out. It works but im guessing this is why i saw so many reviews of people saying their batteries died quickly.Im giving it two stars because amazon will return the item and maybe I just got unlucky.

Spend the extra for something good. . .
Invest in something else. It did properly cycle in my AR but the actually laser is trash. At 15 yards it was spread into a half moon 4" or wider. I tried to make an adjustment... just got back from range its was about a foot down and 6 inches off to the right lol. Anyways waste of money amd time. But its a good pointer otherwise, i may have gotten a bad from from laser head. It doesnt sit flush in cartridge.

Pretty useless
Every time I put this in my weapon the dot was in a different spot. The laser obviously isn't true, but what was I thinking for 10 bucks shipped. I understand a bore sighter wont be perfect but I could barely get on paper with this thing. Plus the batteries lasted all of 3 minutes.

OKAY for the price. Not bright enough for bright sunlight.
worked fine in the garage. Tough to use in daylight. Just not quite bright enough. However, was able to sight in my new scope/mount in garage. Hit paper at the range and was able to finish my zero'ing my new rig. Given the price, seems to be a OKAY.

Functional To 25 Meters
My copy would get the rifle on paper at 25 meters with a rifle, but no further. The laser on my copy was not fully trued/calibrated. However, my loss was my cats gain. The frisky felines just lobe chasing the laser dot. Two stars for use as a sight in tool, an extra star for its utility as a cat toy.

Simple and functional.
A good little no frills bore sighter. Got me sighted in pretty closely. The only gripe I have is having to remove the batteries to turn it off. They are very tight and rely on their weight to come out. The last battery in the bore is not able to come out under its own weight and has to be pulled out with sticky tape.
